Pretty girl is suffering, while he confesses everything Pretty soon she'll figure out what his intentions were about That's what you get for falling again You can never get 'em out of your head It's the way That he makes you feel It's the way That he kisses you It's the way That he makes you fall in love She's beautiful as usual with bruises on her ego and Her killer instinct tells her to beware of evil men And that's what you get for falling again You can never get 'em out of your head And that's what you get for falling again You can never get 'em out of your head It's the way That he makes you feel It's the way That he kisses you It's the way That he makes you fall in love It's the way That he makes you feel It's the way That he kisses you It's the way That he makes you fall in love Love Pretty girl, pretty girl Pretty girl is suffering, while he confesses everything Pretty soon she'll figure out You can never get 'em out of your head It's the way That he makes you cry It's the way That he in your mind It's the way That he makes you fall in love It's the way That he makes you feel It's the way That he kisses you It's the way That he makes you fall in love Love

My older sister used to listen to them when she was in middle school, and because I looked up to her at the time, i was a big fan at a young age in elementary school. And then, when I was in my second year of French class in high school, the teacher that was notoriously easy because she was like always high on pills or drunk or something, she like went MIA early in the beginning of the year, turns out she was in rehab. It took damn near half a school year for the school to find a substitute that is fluent in French to teach the class the rest of the year, and when she was introducing herself, she mentioned how her son played guitar for sugar cult, thinking we would have a clue who they were. But the band was only really relevant at all while the class was like 8-10 years old, and all those kids listened to rap anyways. There was one other kid, though, that listened to sugarcult. Fuck yeah we both were fuckin stoked. Sometimes I mention how I had a teacher who's son was in sugarcult, but no one knows the significance of that because no one knows who sugarcult is. Another regular substitute at my school, especially for French class, was much like the teacher who went to rehab but she was coherent enough to know what she was talking about. She was just really Layed back and had no regards to the lesson plans and when she became the new art teacher, I T-Aed for her pottery class, and even then she had no regard for lesson plans, and no one really made anything beyond cutting out shaped from a slab of clay, and no one knew how to correctly glaze anything or that you can't fire sculptures that are just solid thick and i was only needed to load and unload the kiln every few days so a lot of stuff blew up and no one failed and although all I did was load and unload the kiln every few days and make ashtrays or paint weird pictures in the other half of the art classroom (the teacher I was the TA for the period right before just dismissed me basically so long as I showed up, and marked me present, and I got stoned, and went to the pottery class to paint and make ashtrays. It was awesome.) but the art teacher absolutely loved my ashtrays, knowing they were ashtrays, and she was also cool enough to let me use the spinny table things, if I could ever fucking make something right. But anyways. The significance of the space cadet substitute turned new official art teacher (I guess she was an art teacher for a while Before she was substituting for a while. You would think she would have taught the class how to properly make shit with pottery or glaze shit. From what I could tell from the state of the other half of the art room where they had drawing class, and maybe painting? But just, art on paper classes, is that she didn't have any specific lesson or assignment in those classes either, you just needed to be present, but even then, students got away with being there when they weren't all the time, it wasn't unusual I noticed for her to never learn the names of a lot of students in her classes. Art teachers are the best.) but yeah her significance to this ramble is that her daughter was the lead singer in school yard Heroes, which was a little more known than sugarcult at the time amongst the kids in high school, but those who didn't know who school yard heroes were were impressed to see her pictures of her daughter kickin it with jay z. That's pretty cool I guess. That's my ramble, I know no one asked for it and I know no one actually cares, and I could have just said "oh in French class when I was in high school the teachers son played guitar for sugarcult but no one besides me and another kid even knew a band named sugarcult ever existed, since it was like seven or eight years after their prime" but much like no one gives a shit about the details about when the guitarists mom was my French teacher and then about other teachers I had (coincidentally, the door to the pottery room was right across the hall from the door to the French class. When I was the pottery class's TA, I was the TA for the new and permanent French teacher the class before the class before the pottery class. It was her first year as the new permanent French teacher and she was a push over and never had me as a student-after the school year the drunk French teacher went MIA and spent the rest of the year in rehab, she was back the next year, and because she was such an awesome teacher to have, and she wasn't around for my second year of French, I asked her if I could change my schedule to have her for a third year of French, and she drunkenly said she would love to have me, even though she barely remembered me, and thought I was my older sister who was in her class when she was in high school, but I changed my schedule to take French three with her, but THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED. She went MIA even earlier in the school year than the year before, and before they had the new permanent substitute to teach the rest of the year, the substitute who's daughter was in school yard heroes was the long term substitute (remember I said she was a frequent sub before she was the art teacher? She was mostly the sub for the French teacher who kept going to rehab. Like I said she was in a lot of way similar to the French teacher she was subbing for, except she wasn't drunk, and didn't speak much French. The other frequent sub for the French teacher who was always inebriated was a frail old lady who spoke French but, no shit, who's head was maybe even more up in the clouds than the teacher who went to rehab, but she, like the their sub, was not intoxicated and she was also an art teacher for a while before retiring from a permanent teacher and subbing, but this frail old lady was the teacher who substituted until they could find an actual French speaking sub for the rest of the school year, the first time the French teacher went MIA and they didn't know she was gonna be Gone for the rest of the year or where she was for a couple of weeks and had to find a replacement without warning. So the frail old lady was the sub until further notice basically, and I don't know why everyone talked shit about her behind her back she was so sweet and never marked anything wrong and always helped you with your work even if it meant telling us what to write each time we needed help and when the end of semester tests came around, she went through each question with the whole class and told us the answers. I dunno why people were so mean about her but they were, and no one showed her any respect and she would just try to talk over to class while they talked amongst theyselves and she would do that for each period for like half a semester, but then they found someone to take over the class for the rest of the year, being the mom of the guitar player in sugarcult. The mom of the lead singer in school yard heroes was the substitute until further notice until they found a different teacher who spoke French and took over the rest of the year, the next year, when the French teacher who went to rehab was back and I went outta my way to take her class as a third year French student, there was only 3 other French III students-we just had harder assignments in a French II class, but i wouldn't have moved to that class to take an unnecessary year of French with three other students who only really got approved to take a French III class because the teacher wasn't coherent when she agreed to teach French III in one of her French II classes, if I had known the teacher was gonna be back in rehab in less time into the school year than the year before, but yea the year before the short term-long term substitute was the school yard heroes singers mom, and then the next year they had a reliable new French teacher who was still very new at teacher and was kind of a push over but I TAed for her French I class before lunch and then I came back and checked in with the teacher I TAed for who just let me leave the rest of the period knowing I was a pot head and knowing he didn't have anything for me to do and he only agreed to have me as a TA cause he and I were cool-he was only ten years older than my class so he was still relatable to the students; he was a lineman for for the wa st. Cougars before breaking some important bone like his back or a leg bone or whatever, but he had no intention of being a teacher, more focused on playing for the nfl in life and became a teacher cause his football career was over, but as a teacher he was a Fucking huge white guy with cauliflowered ears, but by the time I was a senior there was no secret I was a pot head and he was just helping me out letting me get the elective credit I needed in order to graduate (k I lied technically it was my super senior year I only had one semester to do cause I had no elective credits and needed to get one more math credit, hence why I was a TA for so many classes. Like I said, I was pothead. But shit I graduated that's somethin.) but anyways, after I graded papers in French class I left and got stoned for lunch and came back to check in with the next class I TAed for so he could mark me present and dismiss me for the rest of the class and I would leave and smoke more weed and get back go directly back to the same spot where the French class was just across the hall to paint and make ashtrays while stoned in the pottery class I TAed for and then that was sixth period so I went back to my car and left before all the after school traffic. It was a lot of going to my car and back. But yeah sugarcult is cool. When i was introduced to them by my sister I was like ten and I didn't know a lot of bands yet, just grunge essentials from my father, but out of the bands I did know, sugarcult was amongst my favorites, even though I only had a small handful of their songs to listen to. I just spent like the last hour typing this ramble....I'm just gonna hit send and walk away. Bye.

The video relates more than you think... Just before this song became a big hit there was a big story about Guyanese girls that were lured to trinidad and tobago and then forced into prostitution under the guise of other things and how they were fighting back with the help of the Trinidad and tobago immigration boards to get back their pasports and belongings and such to return home after it was blown open to the world... I remember they did a concert and gave the proceeds to help or somethin
