Of you have song writer rights you can re-record it if you want, but if it sounds exactly the same you have to give royalties to the person who owns the masters. I like both versions of this song, but I think I'm always going to prefer this one more. The vocals here are angrier and more powerful and match the tone of the song better, and it sounds more complete with the harmonies on the chorus, and that last chorus with everyone singing on top of each other! This is the storyline as I understand it: Simply, he’s a married man that has a side chick who meets up with her every once in a while (you can tell from the way they were looking at each other in the front of the elevator & the way people looked at the sidechick (Taylor) when she got up to see him) Taylor, knows that he is married (from the way she looked at his wife when she left the room) but she still in a relationship with him anyway. On the other side, there’s a typical married house-wife, cooks dinner, buys groceries and brings a little cake to her husband office. She caught them (we didn’t know how many times she has, because she looked at the women in unsure way, but she knew it) The husband felt weird, and left his wife alone and go out with his sidechick, and spend the night with her, and also break up with her and the end (Taylor was crumbling up a piece of paper in the last scenes of her, it means that this man let her have some romantic feelings towards him) and the wife, while she is spending the night alone, reading his old love letters and looking at their pictures, realizing that she have to leave now, and left him alone. The ending symbolizes every man who cheats: being terribly alone at the end.

It's crazy to me how many people didn't know this already! Jennifer is immensely talented (as is Kristian) and they have been making amazing music together for years. An added bonus is that they are amazing people; taking time out of their shows to bring awareness to children struggling in poverty and giving people a chance to sponsor a child, along with taking time to talk about LGBT+ youth and the struggles they face. Truly an amazing duo all around. If you love her vocals I highly recommend you check out some more of their stuff, Kristian also has a great voice and jumps in on occasion for the perfect mix of voices. 'Stay' is a great one if you need a solid cry session, 'Want to' is equally amazing in different ways, 'Little Miss' is a classic, okay who am I kidding, just check it all out.
