I intended to do Plateau > Sugarloaf > Twin and back yesterday, but bailed after coming off Plateau and pondering the climb up to Sugarloaf. Went home and watched the movie instead 😂😂😂

It happens. It certainly happens to me lol. I’ve set off on epic trips only to turn around and go home to nap. Sadly my OCD makes me return the next day to complete the mission lol. It’s all about the fun, if it’s not fun or the spider sense says “not today” the. Definitely go with it lol also I’m more a fan and definitely more motivated with a “loop” the out and backs always mentally beat me up. Try that approach from Warner Creek side including a short road March. It turns plateau into a whole different vibe lol. Up Warner creek and down the DP on the return.

will do. loved Plateau; one of my favorite parts of Catskill hiking is the time in the Balsam Fir zone - Plateau has over a mile of it. Sugarloaf and Twin on another day…

J, any idea how the primitive sites are in Mink Hollow? Get crowded there? Possibly going to do full Devil's path sometime and considering staying there.

I’m not 100% sure if I’d be helpful with advice. We hammock camp so basically everyplace 150 off trail is a valid option for us. You doing one day? Two days or three. I enjoyed it more as a three day. Some rebels also (I mean crazy people) keep going and pop out after north done and sherril ending at shaft road. Psychos

@@jaytheurbanviking I rarely fall. I’m not one of those people who often trip of go down. That freaking bushwhack on north dome has gotten me in both winter and summer. It’s mid evil. I hear there’s a better was from spruceton but I’m literally holding a grudge against ND for bending my trekking poles into the letter “U” lol. I agree. The pace gets greatly reduced and it’s more just to say you did it. I get no joy from that mountain lol. I finished my 3500s of Sherrill but I only like it in the winter ❄️

@@jaycreature3893 Hey thanks for the info let me ask you something else you may know. How is leaving the car overnight at the trailheads? Have there been a lot of break-ins? Are there trailheads that are worse than others for that?

@@jaytheurbanviking there have been vehicle break ins. Not enough that I would feel good saying thier was a “pattern”. I have a little lockbox for the essentials. And obviously no exposed coins or anything tempting. I’m sure you be good. I hoping no one figures out I keep snacks and a cold beer in the 4runner lol On a serious note statiscally I think you will be fine
