Soooo dope well done thank you!! Was just talking to friend guitarist last night about this, pretty sure every guitarists first lesson in electric is turning down the gain and treble and finding out what sounds good is actually hearing the notes. And then you learn to play them better so you’re not so annoyed with the noises you’re making when you can actually hear them 😜

Haha for sure! It was always "fun" trying to explain this concept to the metalhead guys I used to record for 🤣

A lot of bands also quad track their guitars, One more heavy distorted amp and one crunch amp. So you have one track L and one track R with heavy distortion and then you dial in an amp while tone matching it to the first but with just way less gain. I've seen bands run 2 tracks 5150's and then 2 tracks Fender Twin cranked.

This really is a HUGE help after my persistent frustration of various failures in pop punk tone setting....

This came at eerily the perfect time. Getting ready to record a bunch of pop-punk instrumental tracks in the vein of All-American Reject's 'Move Along' and Good Charlotte. I've struggled with finding a tone I like for a while. Hopefully it'll happen! lol Thanks man, great vid, as always.

When I play guitar 🎸, I normally have a lot of gain on my distortion pedal and it makes a buzzing noise, and it doesnt sound as clean. So I fixed it by lowering the gain.

For my guitar sound I use more power amp gain than pre amp gain. On my tiny terror I only keep the gain at like 5 or 6 and crank the shit out of the volume between 6 and maxed depending on the venue we play.

Try searching through this playlist - Chords For Punk, Pop Punk & Emo: kzbin.info/aero/PLVDwKzs2IcV1N1fZMi_iEBDvo6BX5OTtt I've made a few videos already about 7th chords, so you should find them in there.

Which amps sims and IRs would u recommend?

Neural DSP make some really good ones. I've heard great things about Amplitude, though I haven't tried it personally. Guitar Rig is also very good, along with LePou, who make some great free gear. Hope that helps!
