Kochi vlog where i am exploring the local famous food places offering Kerala cuisine, a breakfast buffet in Hotel Vivanta Kochi, Fort Kochi tourist places like Mattancherry and jew Town, the very very famous and huge Lulu Mall and shopping for spices and lots more!
Welcome to the serene coastline & enchanting views of Kochi. This captivating city is located in southwestern India, & attracts travellers from all over the world. There are British colonial buildings, ancient temples & heritage monuments, yet it is a thriving tier II city & one of the major ports in India. But the legacy of the ancient culture remains at present, like the Chinese Fishing Nets from the 16th century are widely in function till the date. The Fort Kochi area, Mattancherry or Dutch palace, Paradesi Synagogue, Kochi Spice Market are a beautiful getaway from the hustle & bustle of the city. Its easy to get lost in the Artsy Lanes, Colourful houses, Cozy cafes & the food of this place. Along with cafes, this city also has some old & legendary South Indian restaurants serving Dosas, Appams, Paniyarams, Kizhi Parotta and other specialities of Kerala. But there’s more to this city than the Old golden days! The convenient Ferry rides, Metro & railway connection easily connect the old with the new places. One of those places is the Lulu International Shopping Mall, spanning over 68,000 sq. m. with over 235 outlets & 100+ top brands. On my short visit here, I tried to explore all of this & much more in this video. As kids we loved Indian Coffee House cutlets, dosai, idli and decoction coffee. I hope someone will revive it as it must be hard to compete with all the latest places. The little private rooms with swing doors should not die a natural death.

This just cracked me up 😂😂😂 Nice vlog... 😊 When you said the most favourite thing to do in a hotel, my mind went immediately to a spa massage followed by a soak in the bathtub and then you showed food! Of course, I guess that sure is the most favourite thing to do anywhere, let alone a hotel ❤ There certainly is joy in going to a buffet early and seeing the food nice and hot and well presented before anyone else gets the chance to mess with the presentation and spill stuff everywhere 😅 If you do get the opportunity, do visit a Kathakali show the next time you are in town. You could also catch the artists putting on their makeup before the show. The Kerala Kathakali centre has shows regularly.

Being a vegetarian in Kerala can be a struggle especially when you step out to eat. When you tell people that you are vegetarian, they look at you as if you are a freak😂. I lived in Kerala for ten years and I found it hard to find good vegetarian restaurants

Actually, Gokul Ottupura is a good restaurant. I usually do not order South Indian there, but rather their chaat and any paneer sabji accompanied by porotta. Horlicks is also good there.

Kochi was always expensive and the spices sell at an exorbitant rate. This is one of the rare places, one gets green pepper and other root spices. Smelling out of the container is a definite no no.Seems people haven't learnt hygiene even after the pandemic.
