This flexible icing is mesmerizing the first time I ate it. Not too sweet, just right, and really clean which makes it really pleasant to see.

Hi! I just bought the lace set. I would like to know if I can make the lace 5 days before using it or not... Indeed, I don't know if the lace loses its elasticity and it would be impossible then to shape it around the cake! Thank you! Greatings from Italy!

Hi there, You did a wonderful job and your product, "SUGARVEIL" works awesome. Now I am going to create a simple white fabric with no lace pattern. I just wanted to know do you have any silicon mat with no lace pattern in your products. Regards, Avi.

All you need to do is use the reverse side of any mat! They are perfectly smooth with no texture. Spreading the icing on the back of the mat will give you "fabric" that is slightly shiny on one side and matte on the other.

@benleetravett - The lace will float when it still soft and flexible, but you can place it in the sunlight or in a food dehydrator and it will dry completely.

Yes, this is possible, if stored properly (out of sunlight, airtight in zipped bag between parchment). Practice a bit to find the best storage conditions in your work place. A thermal bag or a wooden cabinet are both excellent places to store the zipped bags. The thicker the SugarVeil, the longer it is flexible.

nelli rosas , are you using our oven setting instructions? www.sugarveil.com/mat/SugarVeil-Confectioners-Mats.pdf It may be that it is in the oven too long. Since many of us still have our heat on and the air is drier, you simply need to check the mat for doneness sooner. Once you take the mat out of the oven, if you place some damp towels under your mat and rolled up around your work surface, that can put just enough moisture back in the air to keep the lace pliable and workable.

SugarVeil Icing is flexible so you can drape it onto the contours of a cake or dessert and also tastes completely different than royal icing. SugarVeil has a really pleasant taste - something between a marshmallow and meringue-like flavor, and is not too sweet.

Ok, i just bought the sugarveil powder and it says on the package use 2/3 c. sugarveil to 1/3 c. water (Not boiling water) but your saying 1 c. sugarveil to 1/3 c. boiling water. So which is it? cause if im doing it wrong i just wasted all that sugarveil powder.

Ok, I'm very confused. The verbiage on this video says to have your oven temp at 200 degrees to hurry up the setting of sugar veil.........BUT the lady talking said 100 degrees....................which is it?

+Sue Green Hi, Sue! As you probably also noticed, at the time the video talks about the 100 degree oven, there is also a pop-up comment that mentions 200 degrees. We are constantly experimenting with different techniques and methods, and this video is from 2009. Our most recent instructions use a quick, simple oven-setting technique. I used a 3.4 oz bag of sugarveil icing and followed the instructions on there and my icing is very thin and runny (i even reduced the water content when i tried a second time). is there a way to fix this or do I need to start over with a new batch?

Ellie Bissell nevermind!! the instructions i got said to use the paddle attachment and beat on medium. after watching this video, i did it again using the whisk attachment on high speed and i ended up with exactly what you have in this video.

Very disappointed!! No where in the brochure that came with the Sugar Veil package does it say to use boiling water!! I've just wasted an entire package of product!! Also video says beat at high, brochure says medium! Very confusing! Anyway to fix the product that now sits in my bowl? The video info should be on the front page not the back.
