Salute to Bomb1st, John, and Reggie. I don't know everything. I just know what I know. With that being said, let me add on to what Dee said and give some clarity because it's important in this discussion. First of all, I'm not here to justify or defend what happen to Dee. It was wrong. Dre was wrong for that. He has acknowledged and admitted that it was wrong as well as publicly apologized to Dee since that incident. Dr. Dre has not mocked nor made fun of that incident & of Dee on that Eminem song. That was Eminem's doing. He wrote and said that line, not Dr. Dre. The song in question is "Guilty Conscience". I didn't nor do I still fully buy Suge's take on that in regards to Ricky Harris because (like Reggie stated) Suge's timeline is off. I think that's Suge trying to insert himself in that unnecessary to go at Dre. I think Dre has no problem with admitting that it was wrong and apologizing to Ricky Harris (if Ricky & Dee were together in any capacity back at that time or after). Now, let's get into that incident. The one person that did try to help Dee and got a tooth or 2 knocked out was Doug Young. He was the one that tried to intervene and defend Dee. He's talked about this over the years. He also said that Dre was under the influence of alcohol. Dre was drunk when that happened and was angry at Dee over the way that segments of NWA and Ice Cube aired as well as how that made NWA look publicly regarding the beef with Ice Cube. Suge wasn't the bodyguard that was there. It was another guy that was there with Dre, according to Doug.

Here's the 411. First of all Dr. Dre has changed his life for the better now, but back in the day, Dr. Dre would get violent when he got drunk! Dee Barnes was the host of a popular music channel on the west coast in the early 90's. Dee did a interview with Ice Cube who was beefing with NWA at the time. Dr. Dre and Eazy E were upset that Dee Barnes interviewed Ice Cube. Dr. Dre saw Barnes at a party and while being drunk physically attacked her. None of the people at the party tried to help Dee except Doug this popular music promoter in L.A at the time, and he got punched in the mouth by Dre security. Like I said Dre was wild back in the day when he got drunk. High speed chases from the police and violence towards women, Dee Barnes, Michel'a. Don't seem like Dr. Dre like that no more. As for Dee Barnes, she was a victim and sadly got blacklisted in L.A after this incident. RIP to her spouse Long Beach legend and comedian Ricky Harris!

Hold up Reggie! This whole Dr Dre and Dee Barnes situation happened way back between 1990 and 1991 and it was because she was the hostess to a hip hop show (I believe it was a half hour show that later became one hour and only available in some areas or TV channels) where after Ice Cube had left N.W.A. it became known that Ice Cube left when he appeared on the "Pump It Up" show and said some words towards N.W.A. and probably the members and the old video footage is on KZbin for all to look up. Then after that happened and while Dr Dre was still in N.W.A. the account was (which can be cross examined with other accounts available also in KZbin) that Dr Dre, NOT N.W.A. but Dr Dre himself and his homies deep showed up to an event or party where other hip hop artists were also invited to attend in L.A. and Dr Dre shows up with his boys and walked in and then pretty much did all that chaos against Dee Barnes when she was just the host and she herself never said anything derogatory towards anyone in N.W.A. or even Dr Dre himself yet she was the one who Dr Dre decided to physically assault that day. Therefore that stuff happened BEFORE Dr Dre left N.W.A. because there is additional footage where Eazy-E, Dj Yella and MC REN without Dr Dre cause he wasn't there for some reason were asked by MTV News reporters and basically MC Ren said things on Dr Dre's side and Eazy-E was basically neutral and was probably realizing that this wasn't a cool situation... you should be able to find the footage btw. So it becomes some months after that happened that Dr Dre leaves Eazy-E and N.W.A. so Suge Knight wasn't even in that mix but Dr Dre did get into legal trouble which Suge Knight's legal team basically saved Dr Dre and later Snoop Doggy Dogg from major legal court cases. So Suge is currently in prison for a situation that ironically was set up by things that Dr Dre did against Suge (using his likeness in a film with no legal agreements before the situation escalated)... and he is speaking over a telephone conversation so it's not the same as being in a comfortable place being interviewed... I would say that Suge Knight will make mistakes recollecting any memories while he is speaking from a phone in a prison... nevermind that he talks a certain way anyway but you are right in that maybe he was trying too hard to link something up... it doesn't change the fact that Dr Dre basically ganged up on Dee Barnes and that only Eazy-E smacked Dre back with Real Compton City Gz where he also addressed that situation.
