dad hunted with bow and arrow. qajaq made from animal hide. No english had a snowhouse and tent made from animal hide. When I hear these words I am happy. I will remember dad's words telling of hunting and fishing hunting without a gun. Getting animals for food. I get happy. I miss dad's stories and voice. No english because he is Inuk.brings me joy hearing dad's stories.

ataatama my dad words, stories i remember. hunting to get food with only knife, bow and arrow. only used rifle for far animals. I remember and miss his stories. Memories I will sing. ataatama words make me happy when he tells of how getting food and the animals hide (fur) to be used for clothing and shelter. travelling by dogteam, going home to snowhouse (iglu) and animal skin tent. ataatama ( my dad's) words I remember and miss. So happy remembering his words and stories, telling us with his friends. I think that is some of the words in English. iikuluk, sorry I get mixed up English sometimes. Love to you late dad. This song is like tribute to all aboriginal and indigenous fathers, grandfathers and uncles who work hard in cold harsh environment to get food for sometimes starving people through hardships of bugs, slow boat, skidoo, atv, sometimes breaking down. The animal not going to wait for hunter. It maybe days, weeks before you get another chance. It reminds me for dad, akkak and anga'naaq talking about which land they travelled in their journey to provide for family immediate, extended and any one who is hungry. We share. That has always been the way.
