I think 2008 for me. It was in a DnB step video by some girl. Pretty sure that's what got me into jungle as a whole. Paulie Walnuts, Twinhooker, Krinjah. Then into the dancehall/reggae it was remixed from.

I think you are referring to a snare roll, something that is very common in jungle (many songs, even from the late 90's, feature this), not just breakcore. Overal, this is a jungle song, with the amen break being chopped up at the climaxes. If you really want to get specific, the correct term for jungle that edges close to breakcore is raggacore. Not that it matters, this is just a wicked tune. By the way, learn your music.

0:00-0:12 intro, 0:13-0:22 dnb, 0:23-0:45 intro, 0:46-1:07 pre break intro, 1:08-1:29 breakcore (if you listen carefully you can hear the snare breakbeating, the kick does not designate a tempo unless alone...it can also be called a breakcore pre drop since it comes before the main section) just listen to miss balaton by venetian snares or Öngyilkos Vasárnap...breakcore isnt always at 200bpm or up...learn your music...
