When you view characters like these it makes you wonder a little if there is such thing as a hero or a villain. The truth is it's all about who's eyes we're looking through. Geto is a menacing threat to anyone who don't have special cursed powers, but a savior to those that do and are shackled because they are that.

You dont get pleasure doing those violent things, most members of the group think the same, not forbidding violence would cause fear and suffering to you and most members of the group, and disallowing such violent actions doesnt cost you personally anything (unlike eatng meat, which is the same as murder in any consistent moral sense) on the contrary prohibiting homo sapiens to homo sapiens violence benefits you and the group immensely so you ban it based on self interest and call it "evil". Let me ask you: Are you evil for eating flesh of sentient crearures for pleasure, which is produced at the expense of extreme agony of those creatures? Setting babies on fire and raping them in front of their parents for pleasure is morally equivalent to you eating meat for pleasure... you just feel differently about eating meat bc your group allows it, you are not shamed and punished for it and it is in your hedonistic self interest to justify it and keep doing it.

Eating steak at the cost of the animals "suffering"(depends on the farmer or butcher, the animals doesn't feel pain when they are killed, no suffering has occurred, but there are those that are callus to the plight of the animal and even seeks enjoyment from it), they have suffered for the benefit of our lives. They were never killed for the killing itself, but they were raised for the nourishing meat that sustains us. That is orderly, therefore, not evil. For the record, murder and killing are not the same thing. One seeks to destroy the life of the innocent without purpose or reprehensible purpose, the other is to destroy the life of another for a defensible and reasonable purpose.

I'm not sure about this but: Geto's curse was his idealism. He is a kind soul who wanted to believe that the average people were good and were worthy of being protected because the strong should defend the weak. But then he learned the corruption of some of that non curse users, mostly the politicians and the ignorant who wants to destroy what they don't understand and it became apparent with him losing his friends because of it. The two girls are defenseless and the village blamed them for the incidents happening and they couldn't understand that the curses were to blame because they can't see those ghosts. Geto was wrong for killing the villagers because he had the power to bust the girls from the cage or convince the villagers that he'll take them away but the earlier incidents made him snap and going on a killing frenzy. Geto is also having a grudge towards Gojo because Gojo is so strong that he can make everything go his way and Geto I believe is also wanting that freedom.

whole dynamic between Geto and Gojo reversed. I'm guessing before Gojo had his awakening, Geto was actually stronger than Gojo which is why he played the role of the older brother and was the responsible one (tho probably not by too much). When Geto got powercrept, it was just a downward spiral of all sorts of things and he realized that he didn't need to keep playing the good guy anymore cuz Gojo was doing all the work. I feel like Geto totally could've convinced Gojo to side with him, but deep down, he didn't want Gojo to be evil. Even though Geto eventually built up a whole family of sorcerers who had equal ideals, I don't think he truly ever wanted to win, like it was probably his mindset to win, but his heart always wanted Gojo to stop him
