Thornbuckers! I’m intrigued as to their sound, some of my guitarist friends swear by them.

Changed my ssh+ with ssv+ and couldn't be happier. The lead tone is as lush as ssh+ but without the shouty output and super compressed sound. Plus the increased dynamic and stringiness etc of ssv+ is so cool. Also, the bridge and middle position is to die for, better than ssh+ imo. Ssv is cool, but more suitable for 22 frets. The 4th position is nice but the neck position is so harsh and thin, compared to some of 24 fret humbucker.

Oh yeah for sure, there's a brightness that borders on being thin and harsh, one which I warn my sound guys about when I serve on the team. The previous week's guitarist has such a warm and full-bodied sound that it's always too bright when I come back on! I've been meaning to look at Thornbuckers for something more PAF-like but there's a vibe with this guitar that I can't bear to change...

@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar i understand, its tough to change/mod stuff with expensive guitars, same with my suhr. (even worse when my suhr looks like what guthrie calls coffee table guitar lol). the SSV is actually my favorite neck pickup, in my 22 fret ibanez JS that is. been recommending tha pup, until i experience it myself in a 24 fret axe. i...just cant haha, not when my other 24 still sounds full and round yet great at clean as well (my skervesen). for SSH+, i dont play so much metal anymore, more blues and rock these days, so there's that. Thornbucker is nice, i have 2 of them. the Plus version is incredible. definitely will transform ur axe into a lil bit of that lush LP tone thickness on high strings. the bottom strings is super clean. Splits well, combines well. o yea, love your vids btw, gonna sub ;)

I remember yo use a BC Rich Kery Kyng for almost two years lol. Now I'm using an Axis in church services.

Perfectly valid choices for worship! I do have GAS for a BC Rich Mockingbird but my wife says it's too pointy for church...
