She didn't go crazy and rip her own shirt, it was suggested in the movie that the guards abused her. Remember there was a scene of her naked in a corner surrounded by them. I'd assume that after that happened they didn't give her another shirt for "good measure" and she had to makeshift and tied it up. It makes me really sad if this is true.

Everybody that has been reading Harley comics and watching BTAS for a long time says everybody that saw suicide squad is a fake fan. They are also saying everybody judges her by looks in suicide squad. But they are the ones judging her by her looks. Even if she isn't EXACTLY like the comics, she is still a great character in the movie. I would like the character even if she didn't look like that. Also, it's based off of the suicide squad comics not the Harley Quinn comics. I've read suicide squad comics and Harley Quinn looks pretty similar to the comics if you think about it. You don't HAVE to think of her like how you did before the movie. You are the ones judging her by her looks an not noticing that the character is a great character and looking pretty is just a bonus. Also, with the Harley Quinn joker thing. It's fine to ship them. It doesn't mean your supporting abusive relationships. They are fictional characters made to entertain and some people ( not just fake fans) including me ship them. And I'm not a fake fan. In some Harley Quinn comics he has done some very nice things for her. Once, when she hated him and was gonna kill him she actually stopped another character from killing him because no matter what Harley will always love the joker at least a tiiiiiiiiny bit and any real fan would not be upset because of that. Also, a real fan would be happy that in the movie Harley and the joker had a happy ending. So before you go talking about fake fans, make sure that you haven't judged her by looks and make sure that you don't forget to respect that Harley Quinn will always be Harley Quinn even if you don't like it.

Ive been reading the comments and just saying, Harley was originally the jester black and red girl. Im pretty sure she started off in the comics even tho she was created to be in a episode of the Batman cartoon.

When this movie came out, all of the people that had been a Harley fan for a long time freaked out because of her outfit. It was ridiculous cause they wanted her to have the jester outfit, but they didn’t realize that the movie wasn’t a Harley Quinn movie it was a suicide squad movie and her outfit looked very similar to her outfit in the suicide squad comics. They were also mad that it was “ inappropriate “ , but she just got out of prison she couldn’t go on a shopping spree. Those were the clothes they gave the character and there isn’t really a problem with that. And It wasn’t a movie made for seven year olds so it wasn’t setting a bad example. Honestly, most of those people were probably just looking for something to get mad about cause they felt good to prove they are bigger fans than the new fans.
