I was about 6 when I first had it rented out from the video shop and I kept renting it out and keeping the saves on my memory card just so I could see what happens next! Then my mum somehow managed to get it on 90’s Internet (apparently it took all night to get from one screen to the other) and I can confirm it is still the best game I’ve ever played! :D

Unite buff tips 1:20 It's dmg can be buffed if either Kasumi or Mondo equip "Secret Writings" special item from rope climbing minigame 3:17 & 3:43 Equip "Cups of Promise" to get special buff (Dmg buff for Bandit Attack & 30% knockdown for Manly Attack)

I played both Suikoden 1 & 2 a few months back for the first time. I was a bit sad that I glossed over these 2 RPG's in my youth but was pleasantly surprised to be able to play them both in quick succession :D. Thanks for this compilation. You can use Tir if you have a clean save from Suikoden 1, no matter how many destiny stars you gathered, just make a save in the last dungeon and you can convert It in Suiko 2. After you defeat Necklord you need to go do a city (forgot the name) and you will find Gremio and a mini-quest will happen.

The term "octopi" is incorrect. The word "octopus" is Greek, while changing "-us" (or "-a") to "-i" for a plural is Latin, so "octopodes" would be the correct Greek plural, or "octopuses" if you want to translate into English.

When I played this game (and probably one of the best ones at that) a couple of years ago, the unite attack I relied on towards the end of the game were Anita and Valeria (4:31). With Anita equipping Fury, and the latter equipping Balance Rune (so she wouldn't become unbalanced anytime) it made the game so easy to finish, but it def. has a reply value :DD

Yes, I was playing this on the PC. If you own the original game disks, you can run them off your computer using an emulator. I used ePSXe. If you don't own the original disks, you can use Google to look for an .ISO of Suikoden II.

I think you missed out on Riou and Tir's second animation of the Family ATK. Also, as someone else said, it'd be really cool if you'd little captions of the names of the unites. Though, it'd be better if you'd actually edit that on the video, instead of using annotations. Nice editing though and nicely done with the pictures on the side, it conveniently covers exactly the black bars one would see with flash on widescreen monitors... one might think you'd planned it >_o.

Those are optional recruits. When you are given the special item to recruit mythical beasts, players usually either choose to recruit Feather and Sigfried (griffith & unicorn), or these 2 octopus (there's actually 3, including their baby octopus). Rarely anyone does the 2nd one because by doing so you will not be able to recruit all 108 Stars of Destiny.

Kobolds ain't weak. Lorewise, they are one of the strongest race in terms of brute strength. Even Ridley is pretty strong on skirmishes. Gengen and Kabocha just happened to be on the lower tier of Kobolds.
