Each country has its own regulations. Here in Indonesia you will not find public transportation with flat bed sleepers because of transportation safety regulations which only allow a maximum of 150 degrees for the sleeper position. Even on Indonesia luxury trains you won't find full bed sleepers. I had a lot of traffic and transportation experience when I was working for a multinational company in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh area. I had great traffic experience in Islamabad, Mardan and Gilgit Pakistan. Meanwhile in India I mostly worked in the Hyderabad, Guntur and Vijayavada areas. in Bangladesh I often worked in the areas of Dhaka, Manigonj, Kustia, Rangpur and a little time in Chittagong. All of them have their own distinctive culture and traffic rules also road conditions which in my opinion are typical but can still could traced back with the British colonial heritage traffic regulation.

After watched all of your bus experiences here I think at the next trip you can try this quick semi non-stop itinerary. It will combine from luxury to economy bus trip in Indonesia and almost all bus that I recommend here have a well speed experience for you. 1st trip: Shantika/Sahaalah/Muji Jaya/Kalingga Jaya/Muji Jaya at sleeper/Super Executive (2-1)/Executive (2-2) service from Jakarta - Kudus/Jepara, but just ride to Semarang. They have various sleeper body from Laksana, Tentrem, and Adiputro if you might try another body of full sleeper bus, but I will recommend you ride at SE/Exe Class according to your leg problem (My body height also 6ft :D). 2nd trip: You can instantly board last schedule of Sugeng Rahayu economy aircond Hino AK8J E2 215HP bus from Semarang - Surabaya at 3-5AM but I recommend taking a day at Semarang and ride first schedule of Sugeng Rahayu bus at 5PM because it will take effect to the next itinerary. And another fact, Sugeng Rahayu trip at the night give more fun dor speed hunter than a day trip. Usually, we call it "Devil Hour". 3rd trip: After arriving Surabaya at midnight, you can choose your way for the 4th trip maybe from Malang (1-2hrs) or Sumenep, Madura (4-5hrs). You can take another economy/non economy aircond buses for both destinations. The fleets are various, usually economy use Hino AK8J E2, MB/Bharatbenz OF1623/AK8J E4 240HP, but sometime economy service especially Akas group use MB OH1521, OH 1526, Hino RG1J/RK8J, and Golden Dragon in economy services. (for Madura, I recommend to ride Akas IV at 3AM schedule because it gives beautiful seaside view) 4th trip: GHTS (Gunung Harta Transport Solutions) Double Decker Adiputro Volvo B11R 450HP Madura - Jakarta regular schedule at 10AM (All fleets are Jetbus 3, I prefer Madura line for speed) or Malang - Jakarta morning schedule at 7AM. Both Executive and Sleeper class are 6ft friendly (fleets are Jetbus 3 or 5, because there's only one Jetbus 5 until now, sometime can be rolling to Volvo B11R 430 or MB OC500RF2542 but both sleepers not recommended for 6ft). For Malang, you can add a day more to have a vacation there. 5th trip: It will be flexible for you to take a trip to Jogja or Solo by bus or train. There is various option, but I will recommend trying Rosalia Indah again, but the Double Decker one. It's up to you to instantly continuing trip or take rest at Solo or Jogja. 6th trip: Rela Bus from Solo to Purwodadi day schedule (there are various schedule of Rela buses, ride it to Ngrombo Station to continue to Semarang by train), it's craziest economy bus that you should try in Indonesia. 7th trip: You have two fast executive bus options to go to Jakarta from Semarang. You can take Bejeu (choose line BBC01, night schedule, Laksana Scania K410) or Haryanto (choose unit HR150 'Janissary' Adiputro MB OH1626). Bejeu have pre-order meal system, Haryanto can choose meal on the spot, and the fried rice is the best. But, beside comfort, they serve best speed experience especially at Sunday night before Monday. Thank you for coming to Indonesia. Sorry for your bad experience here. Maybe there's some references for you if you will be travelling to Indonesia again.

The regulations in Indonesia for the sleeper class are with a slope of 145 - 150 degrees. with a tilt angle like that and if something unexpected happens, the passengers are much better prepared to anticipate it from the start and are more alert than in a lying position like a mattress.
