Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot in Scale

Quick overview of the available Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot kits suitable for Ukrainian camouflage paint scheme. Trumpeter is the leader, followed by smaller scales and old and obsolete toolings, with small exceptions. Unfortunately for 48th scale fans there is still no decent Su-25 on the market.
If you are into building modern Ukrainian Digital Camo in the midst of Russian Invasion in Ukraine, you should go big.
Trumpeter kit is not perfect, but is with acceptable flaws and many upgrades available on the market.

I built the art model su-25ub 1/72 as a Peruvian model. Tough build but looks good. I'd replace the canopy if some like Pavla did a vacuform canopy. I've got two art model single seats now and will probably do one ukraine digital and a Russian loss one.

The Zvezda kit is great! Got mine a few weeks ago. It's hard to get hard to get in the west but can be found at a reasonable price on ebay. Politics is a very strange thing to consider when chosing a kit but I suppose virtue signalling has creeped its way in to scale modelling

I have the SMER kit and the Monogram kit, which I understand represents a very early production machine and is slightly over scale. It is unfortunate that this is the situation, but it is and I'm willing to deal with it. I have no problem scratch building details or buying after-market parts from Eduard to help the kits along. Given the current situation, I doubt that anything with Russian markings or anything made by a Russian model manufacturer will be popular with the modeling community outside of Russia. This war has truly impacted the model industry in a negative way.

@@DNModels A reality that we fuel with our actions, if someone would like to be political/ethical correct with all aspects as far it concerns our hobby then we cant build almost anything !!!! Never an offensive war is right but all of us buy and build models who participated one way or another to a similar war.

Honestly, politics have absolutely nothing to do with this hobby. If they did, every German model kit I own would suggest I’m a Nazi, but I’m just not. And just because it comes from Russia doesn’t mean it’s bad or the company is evil because they’re Russian, it’s like saying “I blame Russias population for what Putin decided” it’s just arrogant imo

@@DNModels Personally I like to think it doesn't. I build model kits to for pleasure as its my hobby and I enjoy all the different and unique vehicles of ww2, cold war, etc. And Zvezda makes excellent kits one of which I'm building rn which is the 1/35 T-90A. I'm just saying letting politics run what you decide to buy in this hobby in particular means you won't have a lot of fun.
