Excellent 112. I quite like Soi 8 across the road. It's got lots of fab bars. Plus you can cut through the alley to Soi 4, past Lolitas! They're building a big Hotel/Condo where Kiwi Bar used to be. It's moved now, just around the corner. Nice lad called Liam runs it. The old Manager Jason (really good guy) from Liverpool has moved to run an Irish bar up near Soi 30. One stop past Asoke, walk back on yourself turning right next to the Robin Hood bar. He runs the Irish bar 2 minute walk down that Soi. Keep up the great work 112, thanks. I realize they're decent hotels in a good area, but I can't help to think that any serviceable airbnb or hostel is going to be like $40/night as a result.. the hype of thailand must really be boosting their tourism, but with those rates/restaurant tabs I think i would just rather go somewhere more off the track in SEA. what's your take, BNK112? is it still worth it to visit thailand?

It’s where I stay when in bkk. Best hotel on soi 11 imo. You check in on a different floor for sky club. Free drinks for a couple of hours each night. Not worth paying the extra

Reading your comment makes me wonder if you've ever been to BKK and gotten to know any Thai people living there. Gentrification hurts the Thai people, it pushes the vast majority of them out of the area that's being developed. This development does create jobs, none of which are high paying jobs. If you are a westerner you can compare this to how offshoring jobs to China effectively created a service based economy in the US and other western countries. In short if prostitution in BKK was to go away so would the BKK economy. There's nothing there to offer other than that. Manufacturing isn't flocking there, Thai's are demanding better pay and the government has been extremely unstable since the last coup in 2014. But hey, maybe my take on this is completely wrong and you're more than welcome to correct me. I hope you can change my outlook.
