And very paranoid. In fact when Murad finally died and Ibrahim became Sultan, he thought Murad was still alive and was staging an elaborate setup to make him look like a traitor. It took the combined efforts of Kosem and the Grand Vizier as well as seeing Murad's corpse to finally convince him to take the throne.

No it wasn't his mother. When Murad ended her regency she never rebelled against it.. But they had serious fight for the decisions as kösem had a lot of experience but Murad didn't want to hear anything from kösem. Murad became insane all bcz of his childhood wasn't a normal childhood. He lost his father at very small age, then knew that his brother will kill all of his brothers along with him also, then saw how his uncle got mad bcz of all this, saw how his step brother killed his full brother mehmet bcz he was frightened, saw how his brother own ppl brutally killed him, then he sat on that bloody thrown while was stained with lots of blood who was his own family, after that he was never in peace bcz of the rebellion, traitor could not let him to had a peaceful life, after that he lost his 25 sons, and finally he thought this bloody throne causes all this prblm so he didn't want that his brothers suffer from the same event he suffered and he executed Bayezid( Mahfiruz son), Selim, Suleiman, later Kasim only kösem s request to not kill Ibrahim as he was already a mad, but later when he was dying he again ordered to kill Ibrahim so that this bloody game will end forever. I feel so sad for him. How all this went through. But it wasn't true that kösem fight for Power, neither she tried to kill Murad nor Murad tried to kill kösem. Murad respected her mother a lot. He did not had so serious fight as they showed. Indeed kösem killed Ibrahim but things wasn't in her hand as the statesman already made fatwa and they had the sign of little sultan mehmet so she wasn't informed at least, but when she got to know they came to execute Ibrahim she had no choice, as there would be another palace rise as happened with osman and they will kill kösem. Neither kösem wanted to kill sultan mehmet. That was a fake plot by the statesmen. It isn't proved till now. They made turhan a scapegoat and turned out that turhan killed kösem but no. It was the pasha who forced kösem to not retire but to join again as regent and later when she was sassy with them, they wanted to replace her but she got enough.
