Life stops for Suleiman in Hürrem's absence. While, Hürrem's children grieves after her death, Suleiman leaves his magnificence and falls into silence. Everything changes in the palace. Selim wants Rüstem to take his own side. Rüstem gets cornered by the big secret Selim learns about him. A new war begins between Nurbanu and Defne. Mihrimah suspects that Rüstem and Gracia are having an affair and threatens Gracia. Selim tells everthing he had with Bayezid. As Bayezid tries to defend himselfi he gets betrayed. Mihrimah finds out about what happened and confronts with Selim. Suleiman inflicts a meaningful punishment on Bayezid. Bayezid gets subjected to injustice and shows a red flag.
An eternal winter begins for Suleiman after Hürrem's death. Suleiman leaves the magnificence in palace and falls into a deep silence. Hürrem's death will change not only Suleiman's life but everyone's. Bayezid loses his biggest support after his mother's death. However, Selim wants to take Rüstem on his side. Rüstem gets cornered after Selim finds out his secret even though he is determined to stay loyal to Bayezid. Nurbanu declares her era has begun. Nurbanu gets shocked by what the fortune teller who has oracled to Hürrem tells her.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Hurrem-the first woman of slave origin who became a legal wife of a sultan,the first woman who got active in political fields,the first woman who got the title Haseki Sultan.Many other rules were broken for Hurrem,such as:one son-one concubine rule,Hurrem was the first mother who was not sent to a province with her sons.That's because she had multiple sons.She was the only consorst of Suleiman, when he was sultan.Suleiman had 4 concubines as sehzade,but when he became sultan,Hurrem became his only consort,and after Hafsa's death,he dismiss the harem,and only few loyal servants and kalfas remained in the Palace.Hurrem was also the first sultana who lived in Topkapi Palace,previously they all lived in the Old Palace,etc. And she was the founder of Sultanate of Women: -Hurrem Sultana(?-1558)-of Ukrainian origin,Haseki Sultan and legal wife of Suleiman I and mother of Selim II. -Mihrimah Sultana(1522-1578)-daughter of Suleiman I and Hurrem Sultana.She was politically very active during the reign of her father and was de-facto a Valide Sultan to her brother-Selim II. -Nurbanu Sultana(?-1583)of Italian origin,Haseki Sultan and legal wife of Selim II, and mother and Valide Sultan of Murad III.She had a big influence as Haseki and Valide,and she was the first Valide to be active in political fields. -Safiye Sultana(?-1620)of Albanian origin,Haseki Sultan and legal wife of Murad III,and mother and Valide Sultan of Mehmed III.She had big influence as Haseki,and as Valide she unofically ruled the empire. -Handan Sultana(?-1605)of Bosnian origin,concubine of Mehmed III,and mother and Valide Sultan and co-regent of Ahmed I.She was the first female co-regent of the empire,and ruled the empire for short time together with Mustafa Efendi(teacher of Ahmed I).She was Valide Sultan only for 2 years,but was very politically active. -Halime Sultana(?-?)of Circassian origin,concubine of Mehmed III,and mother and Valide Sultan and co-regent of Mustafa I.The only woman who was twice Valide Sultan to her son.She was Valide Sultan for short period(1 and half year).During the first reign of Mustafa I,she was co-regent with Haci Aga.During the secound reign of Mustafa I,she was co-regent with Davud Pasa.The exact year of her death is unknown,because she disappeared from the archives,after the second dethronement of Mustafa I. -Kosem Sultana(?-1651)of Greek origin.Haseki Sultan and legal wife of Ahmed I,and mother,Valide,and regent of Murad IV and Ibrahim I,and Valide and regent of Mehmed IV.The first woman who was Valide to 2 sons. The first woman who officialy ruled the empire.Kosem was also the first grandmother who become regent and Valide Sultan of her grandson.She ruled the empire for 28 years.She had a big influence as Valide. -Turhan Sultana(?-1683)-of Russian origin.Haseki Sultan of Ibrahim I,and mother and regent of Mehmed IV.After Kosem,Turhan was the second woman who officaly ruled the empire.She had big influence as Valide.She was Valide and ruled the empire for 32 years. -Gulnus Sultana(?-1715)of Greek origin.Haseki Sultan of Mehmed IV,and mother and Valide Sultan of Mustafa II and Ahmed III.She had big influence as Haseki,and as Valide too.She is considered by historians as the last member of SOW.

Innocents very much did still die after this though. And that 'fair and just Süleyman' still killed another son and his grandchildren. (it's almost as if the 'Hürrem was an evil witch who manipulated and corrupted him' narrative is sexist and rooted in the fear of the influence of women). She didn't end the empire. It lasted another 400 years. And she did do plenty of positive things. Lile her charity work and what she did for the women.
