Speaking as a lifelong musician I'd have to say my biggest grievance with the music industry and the entertainment industry in general is the exploitation that takes place on a regular basis. The Gatekeepers of the industry abuse their power and use it to get whatever they want out of Artists. The worst part is many Artists expect this as just a part of the business by going along with it. This is big reason why a lot of Artists never break thru into the mainstream. There are some musicians (myself included) who don't respond peacefully when someone tries to take advantage of them. In fact we typically react violently. This puts us on a silent blacklist for the rest of our lives.
