Suma Qamaña 2014 Bolivian Festival 02: Chovena Chiquitana

Suma Qamaña celebrates the spirit of "Living Well" in this four day festival hosted by the Embassy of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, highlighting the indigenous cultures of Bolivia through dance and song.
In this segment, Somos Bolivia perform the Chovena Chiquitana. The Chovena is a typical local dance of the Chiquitana region located in the eastern part of Bolivia. The Choven Chitana, as it is know, is danced at carnivals, usually accompanied "phifano of takuara," percussion instruments, violin, and accordion. It has a very typical touch of pre-Columbian times that is seen in the outfit of the dancers.
