This makes me so happy, Noah is a phenomenal producer, underated in my opinion with how on point his music hits the spot for me, kinda cool to allow someone to sing a whole song and he just does the production side of it,,, there's so many different aspects about this song that I can't even explain the feeling I'm getting!!! this whole aesthetic is crazy, i could swear this video was from 2006. she captured the weird lighting, camera angles, and settings perfectly. This is the same aesthetic as like the original saw movies, repo! the generic opera, early evanescence videos, etc. it’s all just so grungy and dirty and unsettling. Late reply, but got to say you're point on, everything reminds us of the old ways in horror, even using the infamous green filter that we've seen in many early 2000's horror movies, joined together by those rapid cuts that are quite familiar. Overall visually on point, the music as well in my opinion For the other comments though, I get that art can be very subjective, so to each their own, I still like to recognize when work's been done even when the piece is not to my taste :)

I love the double meaning behind this song. One referring to humanity being a danger to its creator - nature, second one referring to artificial intelligence that is sometimes considered as a danger to its creator - huamnity. That's a very smart song with very clear meaning, yet it's so intriguing at the same time! Deep but also easy to understand. Perfect!
@HollowCrown4511 ай бұрын
Yes!! Glad to finally read a comment about the meaning of this song that actually makes sense. I also see a connection between those meanings, which is how artificial humanity has become, seeing itself as life protecting itself from death, never realizing it is the exact same movement and slowly letting go of love in that defense process. Fantastic analysis, kind sir ❤

Its a never ending cycle. God creates just for the creation to kill him, so they have the right to create...and inevitably what they create will kill them too. Creation and death, for death is the only true all consuming thing, because it claims its food just from the aging of time. Its never seen, and controls everything.

Can we all just agree that Poppy has really come into her own after finally getting away from her previous abusive prick of a manager? She really has found her place in the Rock and Metal genre and I love it so much. Like her screaming voice and her singing voice go so well with it. Bad Omens, I'm now a fan because of this collab. I have honestly never heard of you guys but I'm liking what I'm hearing and seeing. I'm very happy to have a new band and songs to listen too. Please drop these lyrics though. I want to have them memorized by the end of the month! ❤️❤️🔥🖤

Her last album wasn't rock or metal and it's amazing 😊 Poppy has managed to make great music even while being wrapped up with controlling people. She said herself, they are still those people trying their best. She's just moving beyond them, as she should. Poppy is the truth e

i think poppy's creative direction for this is so fascinating. she's been vaguely revisiting her computer girl style/persona ever since mid last year, even remaking a scrapped 2019 song, and even while keeping consistent to BO's creative direction here, she incorporated this SO well in this song "isn't it strange to create something that hates you?" cut like a KNIFE dude fuck. her old director was super toxic and abusive, hence why she stopped the computer girl stuff and whatnot, for context. but now with the symbolism and visual storytelling here in this video, she's brought that computer girl back, turning her into her own project, her own experiment if u will, and she's broken her free for the second digital awakening. she's getting her power back, her revenge. and that power is so raw i love it if anyone's just as nerdy about their music tastes as i am and would like to explain all that BO's incorporated here too please do!! i love discussing this kinda stuff and i am actually rlly curious

totally agree! i'm not usually a fan of apocalyptic rhetoric, but Poppy knows how to write them so they feel fresh and exciting! "time is up", "the holy mountain", "meat", etc. but i must say that i feel like this character, the computer girl, will be far better than what she made with previous collaborators... i mean, she is freeing a character that perceives itself as nothing but artificial... maybe Poppy's direction for this persona was totally different and what she is trying to portray is that creative process . maybe her nature is totally different, and what Poppy has envisioned is something radically more tuned to her own identity as an artist.. away from self-hatred, from violence, from simply being an object .
