I miss the time when men respected women because women respected themselves. Today, men no longer need to respect them, because women, namely young women, will tolerate and accept any treatment from the opposite sex, so as to have someone to brag about on social media (their "soul mate") or, better yet, get that engagement ring on their finger, so they can have a 1000 person, over-the-top drunken party, also known as the modern day wedding reception (forget the sanctity of the actual ceremony), after having lived with the guy for years, until he decided to "pop the question" (with a staged proposal, captured by professional photographer...again for Facebook and Instagram notoriety)...Yep, miss those good ole'days!

I heard a radio interview on Facebook where David Cassidy talks about his father . . . it was around 2015. He actually started breaking down during the interview when he talked about his father not being there for anything. He wasn't there for any plays he was in, any of his little league games, nothing. All the other kids father's would be there, but his Dad never showed up. I was surprised that after so many years, he would get so emotional, but he did. David loved him and idolized him. His father just wasn't able to give him what he needed. He had his own issues I guess.
@LuvTadnDixie6 жыл бұрын
You sometimes I think David Cassidy instinctively knew he wasn't going to be around and live a long life. Someone had indicated that perhaps he got emotional in that interview because he was starting to look back on his life as he knew was wasn't going to be around. He even said at his birthday party (2011 I think), -- he was making a speech and he wanted to thank everyone who was there and said something like, "I may not have this opportunity again, and then he said, "maybe I will, but who knows what could happen in the next ten years." I found that so odd that he would say that . . . he wasn't that old . . . why would he say who knows what could happen in the next 10 years? And guess what -- he sadly didn't make it. Some people just know when their time is coming. I wish he was still here though. He could have lived another 20 years, maybe longer if he took better care of himself. I don't blame him though, because addiction is a extremely difficult thing to overcome.

Ms. Jones is an absolutely wonderful woman and so beautiful and talented…a real one of a kind. I only knew her from The Partridge Family given my age and generation, but I’ll never forget my Dad saying how much he liked her (years ago). And then I saw some of her movies from the 50’s and was just stunned at her beauty and talent. God Bless Shirley Jones and all the joy she has brought to so many. ❤️

What a wonderful program. There was also a UK, and here, Australian version of TIYL. Back then it was an era when artists' talent and contribution to the industry was recognized and acknowledged with shows like this. Sadly, television isn't like this anymore.

A lot of guys who watched The Partridge Family had a crush on Susan Dey, but maybe those were mostly boys under the age of 14. You don't hear much about the teen guys ( and older guys) who had a crush on Shirley Jones. Shirley was and is a lovely woman. She's 85 as of this writing (March 2020), still performing. She lost 2nd husband Marty Ingels in 2015. First husband Jack Cassidy died in a house fire in 1976, two years after he and Shirley divorced. He was only 49.

Jack Cassidy started the fire when, after coming home from a party, he drunkenly fell asleep on the living room couch with a lit cigarette.

She is so humble and grateful. She is lucky to have this with these people in it. She got really excited with her first agent. When people respected each other and put others before themselves it seems. She is 87 now. She is wonderful in anything she does. These women remind me of my Mom and her friends. They truly enjoyed people.

This was a really interesting program for someone like me who was a little bit outside of the partridge family craze. I was a bit too young when it aired and not that interested in reruns though I always knew there was something very special about David Cassidy. But what’s really sad here are the comments people are making instead of just enjoying this glimpse into a beautiful woman’s (and her family’s) lives. Unless we knew them anything you’re writing is nothing more than gossip. It’s sad. No one knows who was jealous, who didn’t get along, why anyone divorced or whatever unless THEY told you. Not the enquirer or your best friend or some place you can’t remember where you heard it. David is gone. Let him Rest In Peace. Jack is gone. Let him Rest In Peace. The others are still here. Rumors hurt-regardless of your last name.
