Thanks for the new music! The sound is just amazing, so velvety, so pleasant! ❤However, at the beginning, due to the intermittent effect, I was afraid that my headphones were plugged in again 😂

I can't help but feel that there is more to the story in the amv than what initailly seems... (Long theory comment warning!) The story in the amv seems to portray Yu-chan (dark hair, white dress), who is a player in a videogame, and her mission is to defeat "the dark lord", who is implied to be Lilith (purple haired). Lilith is very playful and has a lot of fun teasing Yu-chan, but she doesn't care. Yu is more straight-forward and wants to get the job done as quick as possible. (We can also judge that from the concept arts in the amv animator's "behind the scenes" video) And yet... I've noticed signs that suggest there is more to the story than simple bickering between the protagonist and the villain. Over time I've thought up of some theories of what could be actually happening in the video. **Theory 1: Yu-chan is actually the Dark Lord, not Lilith.** My reasoning: My first suspicion were the grey segments where we can see Lilith attacking Yu-chan in the spirit of typical vidoe games combat as if the roles were reversed and Lilith was the player instead. At the beginning of the video Yu looks like she is on some kind of prison, like she was supposed to be confined in there, but broke out and now must be stopped (but it could be assumed to be a regular starting area, maybe she was imprisoned by Lilith and got out). One could also argue that the reson she is so straightforward to kill Lilith is to get rid of the "complication" as soon as possible. Not to mention Yu's smile at the end of the video, it doesn't seem to me like mere satisfaction of defeating a villain. It feels kinda scary and sinister. But i have scrapped this theory. **Theory 2: Both Lilith and Yu are dark lords and are deadly rivals.** I thought up of this theory at 1:31 where Lilith and Yu were marked as Player 1 and Player 2, suggesting they are at some kind of equal level. But who knows, at first I thought it was miscommunication with the amv artist. There's also proof for that in the Artist's Behind the scenes video, there is a segment that says "Two girls with dark power, hunt eachother and play together" **Theory 3 (final): Lilith is corrupting Yu somehow, so she can become the next Dark Lord.** I think this is the most probable theory. Lilith knows that Yu is going to stop her, so instead she decides to corrupt her heart and make her evil. The proofs i introduced earlier could favor that too! Lilith attacking Yu video-game style, breaking her spirit and to "defeat" her. Lilith and Yu being both marked as players, because both of them have their own very important task whose lifes depend on its completion. Yu looking shocked and unwell at 1:36, maybe slowly losing her mind because of her corruption slowly taking over her mind. Also whenever Yu was shown as evil, it was a result of Lilith's corruption. Not to mention, this theory can be favored by the song's lyrics! About being dyed with darkness and it overflowing, "Your sense is good as dead", because Yu doesn't even realize that she's being corrupted. Not to mention the title - "Darker Darker". The lyrics themselves seem to kinda dance between Lilith corrupting Yu and her simply happily talking about herself being a villain. Or maybe she's also trying to convince Yu how fun the villain lifestyle is by talking about her own. And at the end of the video - even after Yu successfully kills Lilith (i think that's what happened) her corruption has already gone too far, and she now can become the next Dark Lord instead. Well Lilith, that's one way to make your legacy thrive after your death. Although I might be incorrect about these theories. But it's fun trying to theorize the story. I could make some updates in the future. Maybe the creator could tell me if I'm on the right track? Heehee Thank you for your hard work!

I think Theory 3 is probable. Yu's eyes turn red like Lilith's near the end of the video, but Lilith even hints at it through the lyrics! "I'll look down on you from the clouds"... Like looking down from the afterlife. "I'll transcend dimensions with the power of evil" That sounds *too* much like a generic boast. I think it's more foreshadowing of Lilith's real plans. Yu's pupils also change in the 'DEATH EDUCATION' section.

hi!!! i'm a little late, sorry... i keep coming back to read the comments because they make me happy and i stumbled across this one so here we go!! from what i know, it's been confirmed a mixture between your first and second theories is correct!! you were correct in the first theory by labeling yu-chan as the "dark lord." this MV actually follows lilith as our main character and yu-chan as our sub character, so there isn't a perspective switch and the song and video mostly follow lilith on her quest to 'defeat' yu-chan, not the other way around. i put the word 'defeat' in quotation marks because... there isn't actually a proper way to kill yu-chan. not only is she labeled as the dark lord, she's also labeled an immortal, meaning no matter how many times she's killed, she will come back with another body. her goal is to kill the demon lilith. so, what's lilith's role? she actually serves as a hunter to kill yu-chan. it's important to note lilith has a great amount of strength over yu-chan, as she's also labeled the game's master, a demon, and a "god killer" at the purest form of evil with an extraordinary ability to kill. with this strength, lilith doesn't take anything between the two of them personally or seriously. because it's so easy for her, she sees the whole ordeal as a game (seemingly inspiring the theme of the video). being who she is, she finds joy in killing, so obviously she finds entertainment in being able to hunt yu-chan over and over. because of this, she keeps her as a prisoner (you can actually see part of this in yu-chan's first solo frame in the MV near the beginning of the song. i'm also assuming that's why she has a chain attached to her neck, as well as matching arm and ankle bands). yu-chan, having less power, must repeat the cycle of being killed and coming back imprisoned inside lilith's death game until she finally defeats lilith, which doesn't seem likely for a long time... both girls are regarded as 'dark' and 'evil,' so i don't personally believe corruption was an option here. despite her stoic appearance, yu-chan actually has a wild personality, which clearly shows up as she's attacked or nearing death. if the 'game' in question is an actual game the two girls play instead of a metaphor representing lilith's twisted form of entertainment, they were likely both given their own separate objectives, but we're only able to see one perspective as the song centers lilith. actually, in early stages of development of the video, lilith was supposed to be the only character, but nueul said "wait hold on what if i added ANOTHER girl" 😭😭 so, we don't know if the song was already fully written at this point, but whatever concept sumia originally had while writing was supposed to center one main character (lilith) anyway. that being said, because of this change, we probably shouldn't stress over trying to figure out an in-depth plotline between the two characters just yet. come on. one of them wasn't even supposed to be there. i think it's also important to note a few things about sumia himself, as he's the song's author. sumia usually writes songs under three different 'categories:' 1) songs with full or extensive storylines/plotlines and connected characters (typically found having several parts, featured on albums or relating to pre-existing albums) 2) songs written inspired by specific concepts, feelings or ideas. any characters featured in these songs are simply visualizations of the concepts the song was written about. usually, the lyrics of these songs are the thoughts or dialogue of a character, revealing enough to tell there is a story, but not enough is developed to confirm or deny any major events (usually singles or features on collaborative events/albums) 3) a combination of the two above! i'd say this is the most common style and also what we see with this song. i wouldn't be surprised if each of sumia's songs had their own stories, but you can't really fit a lot into two or three minutes.. and it's understandable he wouldn't want to exclusively release series and albums. actually, because of this issue, he's mentioned taking interest in writing more about the stories featured in his songs! i still don't know what's happening with that, but once we have more news on it i'll come back here again sumia is an astounding author and storyteller! when you analyze his songs, it's definitely best to pay more attention to the lyrics than the MVs. i'd also like to mention nueul said the MV was up to interpretation. there doesn't seem to be a correct answer to any story-related questions yet (at least as far as the MV is related), so the lyrics are still your best bet!! ..oh, yeah. sumia also said interpretation is welcome, so we really shouldn't be trying to find out what exactly is "correct." as this story seems like an indefinite loop, everything you've mentioned here may have already happened in one of the cycles!! i think that's an interesting concept.. i might end up commenting a whole bunch of different theories myself 😭 *everything i've provided above about the characters should not be confused with the story itself. all i've done here was describe character traits and reoccuring events that directly relate to the story, but there is currently no written or confirmed plotline. so, please do what you will with them!! i hope it was somewhat helpful, i don't usually type long replies like this 😭 this might not even be right. i'm sorry. i'm typing this from memory and i should've been asleep like three hours ago
