Here's a little blurb about the food meters (you don't need to worry about the heart meter if you feed them their favorites, as both will go up): I've found that if you feed them a regular food (ones that give them the music note instead of hearts), you have to feed them 100 of that food to completely fill the hunger gauge. If you feed them a food they love (they show hearts when you feed them), it takes 50 of that food to fill the gauge. There is also a super favorite apparently. Feeding that one will take.... 40 times. 😑 I'm not sure why they thought it was appropriate to have to feed them so many times but it's a little ridiculous. Here are the Sumikko's favorites that I've found, as well as how many coins it costs to buy all the food needed: Neko: canned catfood (40x to full), costs 2000 coin. Tokage: Fish on a stick (40x to full), costs 2000 coin. Tonkatsu: French Fries (40x to full), costs 4000 coin. Penguin?: Salad/cucumber/tomato bowl (40x to full), costs 2000 coin. Shirokuma: Strawberry Sandwich (40x to full), costs 6000 coin. Altogether it is a whopping 16,000 coins to feed them all to full with the most favorite food. Furthermore, since you can only get a maximum of 300 coins for some mini games, you'd have to play about 54 times to get the necessary coins to get the food. Seems excessive to me! I still am enjoying the collecting aspect, but I wish the Sumikkos were easier to please 🤣

thank you for the super detailed math! yes even 40 times sounds ridiculous to me, considering on the Tamagotchi you need to feed less than 10 times. and I agree 16,000 coins to make all of them full is excessive! Especially so when their happiness and hunger drops super quickly too.

Do you have any thoughts for someone choosing between the Sumikko Mikke and the Water? I am unsure which one to get! I don’t really love cameras so I thought the Water might be best! But would love your thoughts :)

Thanks! My 7yo daughter just got one of these for xmas and this has been helpful. The heart and food icons don't seem to ever want to fill. I even overfed neko until she fell asleep and the food icon was still empty.

You're welcome, I'm glad she found it helpful! It's really tedious to try and fill the food and heart so most of the time I don't bother doing it. I just enjoy interacting with them like showering and petting them, and also playing the mini games.

I really want a Sumikko Water but I’m not 100% sure if I should buy it now. Do you think they’ll come out with a DX version? Or should I buy it now? :3

I honestly don't know if they will come out with a DX version. From past experience it seems like they might? I think there's no harm holding it off if you really want to wait for awhile to see what happens. Mean time maybe you can buy the Sumikko Mikke first, since it's also equally as fun.

What’s the difference between this version and the one with the yellow top and pink body? Thanks in advance!

That one is the DX version. Not much difference, except the DX one comes with extra faceplate designs. I'm not sure if there's extra / different content but even if there was, the difference is quite negligible. Both are equally as fun, and the functions are exactly the same.

Thanks for the video and English manual. It's charming and cute. Attractive body design Although, unfortunately, some functions are no longer available.😔 But the graphics have evolved. And I love how they swimming in the other mode. So there is little news about the deluxe version. Today is the release date. Unfortunately there is no case include and reduce something in the set It's a pity but I decided to buy water DX after watching your video. Just for fun. I think I like water more than mikke. yes i noticed that. i think its not important to fill up the meters since there is no "punishment" for not doing so, as they won't die or anything. so I just leave the meters empty and just fill it up whenever I am bored or feel like it. i focus more on playing the games, and completing the lirbary =)

Each character has their own respective favorite food, which might increase their happiness faster I think, but I'm not sure about hunger sorry. I always feed the free food because I'm too cheap to "waste" the expensive food on them 🤣
