In this episode of Flexie Guide, we are featuring Summa’s Flexcut feature on the S Class 2 Vinyl Cutter Series. ​
Flexcut is designed to add more flexibility to your production. Summa's FlexCut feature enables you to cut through simple designs in the media, without damaging your roll plotter.​
By alternating between cutting through the media and half-cutting the vinyl, the Summa vinyl plotter creates small media "bridges". These bridges allow the cut media to stay together.​

Remove with ease​ in one simple step (press start and let your Summa plotter do the rest)​ without damaging your roll plotter​
The FlexCut feature is often used in combination with contour cut during the processing of large rolls of vinyl. The contour cut follows the contour of the design (sticker) but without cutting through the backing. This way the sticker can easily be peeled off the backing. ​
When using the FlexCut feature you will alternate between cutting through (the backing) and partially cutting through. By alternating, a kind of tear-off line is created. This ensures the material keeps its rigidity during transportation through the cutter while remaining easy to remove the cut pieces afterward. An entire vinyl roll can thus easily be processed, adding efficiency and flexibility to your entire workflow​
Note: In this video, sometimes little squares are cut through and seem to disappear (e.g. at 1:14 min.), this is normal, the cut squares can either stick to your knife or fall under the vinyl. ​
