Angela, first off, I Love the pace you chose to take us on the tour... Second, Love the navy curtains... I appreciate having to block the heat of the day at the expense of the view (I leave mine open overnight to enjoy my view at first light, before the oppressive heat besets the space)... Third, Loving the new orientation of your office, being able to look out of the window in a sense expands the space... 4th, the blue & gold stove; the coffee station; placement of the tree in the doorway... Such a beautiful home. I have some questions? How do you raise 6 children with all your treasures decorating every surface and wall. Don't things get broken, chipped or damaged? Who in the world does all your dusting? It must be a full time job?

Yep Homemaker Chic Podcast is the place to be for all stories of broken treasures. HAHA. But yes, we're normal. The cat barfs on my rugs, the kids break my stuff, it gets super messy every day and then tidied up before bedtime. As pretty as it is, it's just stuff but it's a chance to teach them about respect and being aware of other people's feelings, their surroundings, organization, investing in quality pieces, etc. But you can't take it with you:)

I can’t speak for Angela, and I only have three children, but in all honesty, the only precious things that have ever been broken in my household have been by myself. When children grow up with pretty things around them like that, it is fairly easy to train them to treat them nicely. As for the dusting…it happens monthly or seasonally for me, not something I can handle weekly.

I don’t know where to start! What you have done to your home is just miraculous. You would never know it was an eighties eco home. The transformation is amazing. As I watched, I felt like I was seeing a French country manor house with the gardens to compliment it. Can we talk about that beautiful stove, love the color. Thank you for the wonderful tour. Just a thought on your railings, have you considered replacing with wrought iron railings like you find in New Orleans on balconies? Also have you tried potting up and over wintering your lisianthus? I always bring in my geraniums and fuchsias so I thought I’d give it a try. Thanks again for the tour.

Dear Busy Woman...been following you for years now, completly love your style, it's my taste also...DIY'S, thrifted treasures, you know driving down a street..errrrrr! put the brakes on a treasure I seen on the curb...immediately " I " see the potential ! LOL..occassionally I change my bed for the next cold weather season...I always made brand new buys...not this time...I searched you again...and "wa-la" my comfy, eclectic, cozy look I seen in your interpitation of your bed, bedroom....my next trip to thrift was my lucky day....I found the major item to start my transition ( at $6.00)...the bed cover, that find lead me to see the next change...I know it's gonna take time...thinking I'll have to DIY it...but I'm good at that....YIPPY...byeeeee for now from So California...God bless....muchas gracias
