ORGANIC BASICS' original Danish owners went bankrupt in 2022, and they were bought by an Israeli textile giant. They changed some of the suppliers and factories, and their prizes significantly dropped after that. Like t-shirts and bras are half the price of what they used to be. This can almost only mean that the workers are paid less then before and are in countries where labor laws are less strick then in the EU. I would not trust them to be as sustanibale as they claim, especially not if you view labor rights as a fundamental part of sustainable clothing.

My fav outfit is a halter top with an arm cuff bracelet!!!!! Halters have a special something that camis don’t. I love capris too! And my fav shorts from Uniqlo have semi exposed pockets. I’m so happy. Still love baggy pants and low rise flares tho. Tbh the pant silhouette I’m waiting to come back is the tapered trouser, so classic and feminine. The barrel jeans trend might be a precursor!!

I had a pair of 70s inspired jeans like that a few years back, but then I ruined them with bleach and couldn't find a similar pair anywhere. So happy that they're having a moment again

At this point, I know what I like and what suits me and my lifestyle so trends are interesting to tune into but don’t hold much sway on me. The ONLY reason I get testy about trends, especially with pants, is that once something takes off and it’s got some stickiness to it, it becomes ubiquitous and just like that it becomes so much harder to find the fit that you wear. I mean, the looser, longer leg trend has been great for me because of this. It’s been easy to find options. But if skinny jeans come back … augh. The first go round was hellish lol. Other than that …. Y’all have fun with the gauchos and skinny pants and I’ll meet you on the other side 😂. Kinda on the same vein as the arm tutus, I recently went down a Pinterest rabbit hole of neck pieces, like removable stand alone collars. Like tulle and ribbon or pleated fabric collars. They’re GORGEOUS and I’m determined to either make one or buy one off Etsy and find a way to incorporate it. I already have so many ideas …. There are also removable/stand alone cuffs that are also so pretty and kinda dramatic in the best way.

Billi bi is nice after you break them in. By the looks of it a lot of their models are also goodyear welted, so the sole is easy to resole when it's worn out

what’s wrong with organic basics? I checked their website after watching the vid and I thought they were saying all the right things (carbon offsets are dubious, but it’s better than nothing) but thought the prices seemed curiously reasonable for sustainable & ethical pieces. I always assume there’s a certain amount of green washing with brands like that, but is that brand bad in particular in some way?

According COSH! they also haven't mase a Impact Report after this change in 2022, and they stopped being so transparent as the used to. This worries me as a long time fan of the original brand, Sustainable fashion sadly can not be this cheap. Before 2022 they were a brand you could kina trust in regards to sustainability. OP might be especially disappointed because of the new owners origin country and their founders ties to this countries government. I personally don't really blame Laini. I think it's an easy mistake to make if you haven't followed the brand the past 5 - 10 years, and therefor haven't noticed the big suspicious change in price and graphic design. this was very long, sorry! I'm just sad about losing a less greenwashed option for underwear and sportswear
