@@joinmeoutdoors The entrance to the Namadgi National Park is only a few minutes from my house. Sprawling mountain range that gets some snow in the winter etc. I’m lucky in that respect - I can just grab a pack, drive into the park and head on many walks and camps in there. The wildlife can be challenging. I guess that as an Australian, you learn about and get used to the dangerous things out there. I’ve been thinking about uploading some of my adventures out there

Congratulations on your 30th wild camp 🏕 🤙👍 I'm off tomorrow to Llandudno for a wild camp, I've really tried to keep my backpack weight down too, 11kg so far, I'll add water so it'll be more like 12.5kg which isn't to bad cuz my tent is 2.15kg. Like you, I'm leaving all my waterproof clothes behind, lap of the weather gods that it won't rain, the forecast looks ok though 👌. Glad you remembered your beer, well thanks to your gf that you didn't forget it lol. I think beach camping is my preference tbh, as I live the furthest away from the sea that you can get in the uk. So I cherish hearing that sound of the lapping waves 🌊. It did look as though you got the perfect spot to camp, great views and the sound of the sea was nice to hear 👌 I'll look forward to your 31st wild camp adventure 😀 have a great Sunday 👍
@joinmeoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Richard! Llandudno is a really good idea. I've only been there once but you get cracking views on a good day, and 12.5 is decent with a 2 kg tent. I don't think we need to worry about getting rained on any time soon! Have a great camp - I'm sure you'll enjoy being back by the sea 👌

I've never been in that area either so you've inspired me to start planning some routes! From Cheddar it looks less than a 2hr drive so maybe we can get a day trip recce in before a longer jaunt. The beach is partly dog friendly too which is a bonus! Looked a great bivvy spot!!

I've been the same Chris. You're not far from me, and it's so easy to look at Barnstaple/Ilfracombe etc and think it's too far to go. It only took me 1 hr 40 mins to get to Woolacombe, and it was WELL worth it for this outing. I hope you get yourself over there soon 👍 James.

What another stunning spot James, those rocky outcrops look ideal for a bit of landscape photography :) you are tempting me with your bivvy vids but my main concern is what will happen with my camera and lenses if it did rain in the night? I could leave them at home but a large reason to why I camp is for the images Great job again mate
@joinmeoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jim. A dry bag should take care of the camera and lenses. I pack all my stuff away in my rucksack as you can see. In winter I line my rucksack with a dry bag, so nothing gets wet in there regardless of the weather 👍
