What a lovely garden! Have you ever considered pulling up your grass and putting pretty slabs/flagstone down??
@Linasgardens11 ай бұрын
Oh so often I thought about that but haven’t succeeded in getting the husband to approve the budget 😅 I would at least love to do walkways that go around different areas of the garden. Someday we’ll get that done 🤞 Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. Happy Gardening 🌸🌿

your plants look very healthy!do you use any pesticides for the plants?the leaves are shiny and look very healthy!
@Linasgardens11 ай бұрын
Thank you! No I don’t use any pesticides. When I started out 4-5 years ago I used spray neem oil and fungicide on my peach tree because it was suffering from leaf curl disease. But after two seasons, I didn’t see much difference so I just let it be. I’ve stopped using chemicals or any non-chemical sprays since then. However, when I planted something, I amended the heck out of my soil. I mixed in some compost, soil conditioner, and whatever else I think my soil needed. And I watered A LOT the first year so generally all my plants had a really good start. That’s the best defense against diseases and pests in my opinion. Oh, also, always plant the right plant in the right spot. For example, plants that love full sun will not do as well in a shaded area no matter how hard you try to make it grow. I do get yellow and brown leaves too here and there but I remove them as often as I can (that’s probably why my plants look healthy). Unless those dying leaves are on seasonal bulbs like tulips or lilies, then I just let them turn brown and fall naturally.

Beautiful garden, could you please mention where you get your plants from? I am in your zone and inspired by your garden
@Linasgardens Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I buy my plants from anywhere and everywhere I can get my hands on them - farmer’s market, garden centers, big box stores, local nurseries. And oftentimes I buy impulsively… especially if there’s a sale going on 😅 but the one place I tend to avoid as it’s been a hit or miss for me is online. I’ve bought live trees from a website that probably was shipped across states that didn’t survive and also dahlia bulbs that never came up. Except my roses. All of my bare root roses that I purchased from David Austin and Costco all survived and seem to be thriving in my garden. Hope that helps. Thanks for visiting my garden ☺️

Hi, love your garden. I live in Seattle and want to plant a hydrangea tree like yours. Does the flower and branch all bend over after the rain? You know Seattle rains a lot. Thank you!
@Linasgardens5 ай бұрын
Hi, I think that’s a great idea. If you’re worried about bending or drooping stems, the one I have (Phantom) is great for holding itself upright. It may droop a bit after heavy rain but never enough to break the branches and as soon as water evaporates, it comes back to looking great. Incrediball is one of the newer varieties and I heard they have very strong stems, too. You might wanna check them out. Good luck and thank you for visiting my garden 😊🌸🌿

your garden looks amazing!how do you overwinter the stargazer lily buds?Do you remove the bulbs and store them indoors or do you just leave them in the container?If you leave them in the container do you water the container in winter or let it stay dry?
@Linasgardens Жыл бұрын
Thank you! So I actually do nothing to my lily bulbs in winter. They’re so tough! Or it could just be where I am as it doesn’t get too cold in winter. The ones in the containers, I’m probably going to give them new soil here soon.. I leave my containers out where they are. It rains so much here in the winter, my lily bulbs get free water. The only thing I keep a close watch for is that the containers have proper drainage so the bulbs don’t rot. Lilies are incredibly easy to care for :) Thanks for visiting my garden by the way 🌸🌿

Your garden is lovely.How are your camellias doing. I have 4 on my patio. They are doing great. I live zone 7b. Have a couple options for this winter
@Linasgardens Жыл бұрын
Thank you. My camellias are doing great. I currently have them on my patio too. They get some sun and regular water. I usually leave mine out during winter. Are you planning to take yours in to overwinter? Zone 7b… I’m guessing it can get pretty cold.

@@Linasgardens I have a wooden shed that I'll probably put them in. It has a balcony that I can bring them out during the day. Until last year we had mild winters.

Can you tell me how you overwinter your geraniums?
@Linasgardens Жыл бұрын
I either take cuttings or bring the entire plants inside after pruning them back, depending on how much room I have indoors.

Hi Lina I love your garden channel you mention zone 8 where are you in term of states and I’m just curious your nationality? I know you’re probably Asian but not sure if you’re viet , Lao , Thai or Khmer
@Linasgardens6 ай бұрын
Hi! This garden is in zone 8b near Tacoma area in WA. I get asked about my ethnicity a lot I guess since my looks can pass as a few Asians lol so it’s totally fine. I’m Thai but my family line definitely has some Laotian and Khmer blood, oh and a teensy bit of Chinese as well. Thanks for visiting my garden!

Hi! Before frost hits (usually November for me) I hose it down, let it dry then bring the pot inside. If it grew too large that season I trim the branches to maintain size. I have a spot by the window in my dining room area where I’ve been keeping it every year. I water once a week over the winter months to keep soil moist. Then bring back outside in spring.
