I have a question. The camp I go to is called Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp It is in New York Did you see it when you were looking for camps because I feel like so many people go there but when I mention it to anyone they have never heard of it before.

Hey, this is a great question! My first year I did camp I was on my gap year after having done 2 years of uni so I didn't have to worry about semester dates clashing. My 2nd time at camp I did after I finished my degree. I finished my last semester in late May 2019 and flew straight to camp in early June 2019! I requested to sit my exams earlier so It wouldn't clash with camp and my university was fine to let me do this! :)

Hey! i´m marta (19 yo) from Spain, and i´m going to apply for the 2021 summer, but i dont know what to do, to be a general counselor or specialty in probably fine arts (im studying industrial/product design, so that could be useful). The thing is i dont have any work experience not even with kids, so im scared that if i apply as a specialty counselor i´ll have fomo of not bonding with the kids/doing all the activities OR being a gc and having a "kid" overload and burn out and wish that i did the opposite more "chill" experience. what would you recommend? maybe not risking it and doing specialty and if i like it a lot the next year do GC or going ALL in? thank you!

Do you need to be a specialist in any skills to be a general councillor, I would be more than happy to guide a group through different activities and take part along with them, I just dont feel like there is any particular skill I could teach myself. Im also 18, is that too young too be a general councillor? Thanks

Hi Mia! What time you wake up at camp depends on your age! Our younger campers have earlier bedtimes and they wake up earlier in the morning. Our older campers have later bedtimes and wake up later :)

It really depends on personal preference and also your experience. CEL will be able to assist you with which would be the more appropriate position for you x

It depends on what summer camp it is! My first camp i worked at - the kids stayed between 1-3 weeks. And the second summer camp - the kids stayed the full 8 weeks :)
