I am from Hong Kong and visited Shirakawa and Gokayama years ago. It's a must to stay overnight so that you can enjoy the peace in early morning and evening since it was too many tours arrived in afternoon.

Hi from Malaysia 😊… thanks for this lovely video, I like that you kept it quiet and peaceful just capturing the sounds of nature! I visited Shirakawago in the autumn of 2023, and I found it breathtakingly beautiful with the colors of fall everywhere on the mountains and bare persimmon trees with just the ripe fruits without any leaves. There were river trout in the drains. The whole experience was just amazing. Thanks again for sharing your summer experience ❤

Hello Sol, Thank you so much for this wonderful video. Some time ago, you introduced us to Ine, which I loved, and now it's the turn of Ainokura and Shirakawa. When I go to Japan, I'll pass through these three villages. I literally fell under the spell of Ainokura. I loved this village and its atmosphere. It has everything to please me: the mountains, the countryside, the snow in winter, the gentle way of life and these superb thatched-roof houses. A real dream with my eyes open. As for Shirakawa, it had the same feeling as Ainokura, with the added bonus of the onsen. Many thanks again for this video, which made me dream. I felt like I was somewhere else for an hour or so. Fascinating...so peaceful, but i agree the frogs would have kept me awake as well in the 1st town. The houses, the atmosphere are so peaceful during the day at both places. Just went there in June of this year. Went with my older sister and grandson. It was great, but lots of walking and it was hot. What do you expect in the month of June! You should go, it very different. Enjoyed this place very much.

Hi, you say there isnt much to do there, but just listening to the bird sounds anywhere in the nature there (the birdsounds are just different here)....that would be otherwordly nice for me. And that nice river, amazing! Ofcourse if you want michelin 3 star restaurants with city comforts, not for you. But just enjoying nature, so amazing!

What an artwork of a video! The view from the Kanda house is really beautiful 🤩 Since being in Kanazawa, Takayama and Shirakawa I always recommend to spend some days because I really enjoyed my time there, as you said these places are healing. Sarubobo was my main omiyage, I loved them when I knew about them in Takayama 😍 Enjoy the rest of your travel 🤗
