@@farmerspov4709 One thing for sure, you are WISE not to mention your location. Keep private, otherwise you would have way too many curious people causing delays. You have no time to run tours. You seem very happy...I am thinking 1. because you enjoy what you do on this beautiful farm and 2 you have a loving, caring wife.

Another wonderful video and loved seeing the area away from the farm too. Next time you cut would it be possible to show where the hay or straw is ending up? I’m guessing high above the cows but not sure how it gets there from a silo? Will the cows eat the straw also? The flowers around your home and buildings are beautiful. You have the cleanest farm I have ever seen it’s so lovely all around your place it shows the pride you take in everything you so. Also do the tractors has air conditioning? I have read your having a hotter than normal summer. I saw the cows laying down around the tractor when getting the water I know the high heat gets to them I’m sure. Thank you, Susan
@farmerspov47092 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙂 sure, you can also check my "making hay for dairy cows", or "storing loose hay" videos 🙂 it doesn't go to a silo but in storage above the cow barn through a hay blowers pipe 🙂 yes, we include a bit of straw in their diet 😉 just the John Deere tractor has AC 😀 yes, very hot and dry this year, pretty bad for the cows but they seem to be doing alright 🙂 thanks for your comment 👍

@farmerspov47092 жыл бұрын
Thanks 🙂 its really dry, we cut some of the 3rd cut now, earlier than we would like, because the grass was starting to dry extensively... We got a little rain showers every other week or so, so the corn is still alive 🙃 yeah, this week we had temperatures up to 38°C.

I loved the video I love your milking videos, can you explain how this equipment that goes in the cow works? and if you actually hurt them
@farmerspov47092 жыл бұрын
Thanks 🙂 the milking machine simulates calf sucking, it gently squeezes the teats. Cows aren't hurt at all, in fact, they enjoy it. When milking, the cow secretes the hormone oxytocin, which causes the mammary glands to empty. If the cow was under stress, she wouldn't let the milk out 😉

Know I see why your uses electric wire instead of putting fences up to divide up the fields when you want the cattle in certain fields or to keep them out of certain fields to make hay or straw an other crop that’s understandable. But you do have a wonderful scenery. I see why you like working by yourself but a little dangerous if something went wrong out in the field . That is kind of machine we need for solos instead of moveable ones . I see you got your helping on getting hay that is nice. About how many times you milk cows in one day ? We , I live on the farm we milk cows twice a day .
@farmerspov47092 жыл бұрын
Yes and it's easy and quick to set up 😉 we milk twice a day as well 🙂
@rosemarymurphy57672 жыл бұрын
@@farmerspov4709 I wish we did that way with electric wire but we did post and fence with bobwire on top. Not a pretty site to see one get tangled in bobwire . It look like it was real easy putting electric wire up . Here our ground is clay we got a hole digger to make holes for post at each corner then steal post to help keep fence up . May I ask one question what country you from? I’m from Central Indiana United States never been out of this state.
