Yes, I agree. My dogs pick up on my anxiety big time and even just a venting session to a friend will bring them to my lap trying to lick me or insist on scratches. They are trying to distract me from whatever I’m upset about. I just have learned that even when venting to keep my voice calm and even to save them worry for when I really really need them to come to the rescue. They really hate it when I talk to them as my venting friends.

She kept trying to tell Mom to take a deep breath and release😂 My dog doesn't have buttons, but if I get into a heated discussion with someone, she will triangulate between myself and the person I am upset with, like a referee or buffer. I feel like Bunny was trying to do that emotionally❤

@@deannad9105 Yes Dogs definitely like their people to be calm, they will always come to you and try and get you to Pat them because then they know you/we relax. My dog gets worried when I cry when I’m talking to my deceased girlfriend/soulmate I usually talk to her driving to work as 8 live in the bush so there is no traffic and it’s a 45 minute drive, I always tell him it’s ok and I thank him, also if I’m having a stressed phone call, it’s a good reminder to call myself.

It blows my mind that the dog knew to give an alternate phrase for "tomorrow" to mean "after today". Incidentally, it is better to say "after today" or "the next day" to refer to tomorrow because no one ever does anything on a "tomorrow" because whenever "tomorrow" supposedly arrives it is always today.

Awww - poor Bun-Buns really isn't a big fan of the hot weather❣ I have one cat who absolutely hates the cold and another who really hates the heat. My third cat isn't bothered either way, but does get upset by rain!. 🤣 When the afternoon starts to get chilly, little girl who hates to be cold will sit in front of the heater and cry until I turn it on. When it rains, my rain-phobic boy will run from door to door calling to me until I open each door in turn and show him that the rain is *everywhere* around the house, which means he can't go outside on either balcony! Animals are SO smart. I've thought about getting buttons for my cats, but I'm kinda scared what they might say! 🤣🤣🤣

About 20 years ago, I debated in a forum with a religious psychiatrist: he did not agree animals (any animals!) could understand language or could speak. He said commands is the only thing they could learn. And he owned dogs! Concepts like "later," "now," "tomorrow" he would never have believed animals can understand. I'm fairly certain dogs have at least some ability to sense upcoming weather changes, like because of the ambient smell or something. Like how there's a certain smell that often precedes rain.

I often wonder whether it's possible to teach a dog like Bunny that humans get information from computers/phones. A greater information on how technology works is definitely beyond her. However, an understanding of the "light-up box which humans use for things" seems possible, although teaching her how to use a computer is nonetheless impossible.

I love that baby bris has learned form wathcing big sis demonstrate . They would be able to teach eahc other is what i take fomr that. Like in families where the genertaions keep the ddog genertaions. W ehad foru generatoons of one dog gamily over twnety years at one time . Sometimes stable families go longer as well. Wathcing that over that ammount of time would be facinating . As puppies learn oso nuch younger their potential growth would be cool and the maintenance over time and language developments . Seems like you have your own new language there lol

Why don’t you have a friendly conversation with the other dog’s owner to ask them to not let their dog out while your dogs are out. Talking to your neighbors and confronting the situation is much better than you being angry and stressful.
