During six weeks in the summer of 2016, TagsAndThrows had the unique chance of follow 5 graffiti bombers born and raised in New York as they were getting their names up on the walls of the Mecca of graffiti.

I wouldn't agree. I'm from London myself, the place is filled with tags. Maybe central London lacks, but thats like anywhere else, it gets cleaned within the hour. But London as a whole is filled, and there are a bunch of crews repping it, SFL and LWI to name two.

This interviews show that a lot of people behind graffiti are intellectuals. I guess you have to be smart to come to an idea to grab a can and put some shit on the wall that is not some random garage. Also shows that talent and super creativity its not just domain of some high end artists and it can come from any society, class, status. It just shows that no matter whatever slums you come from the potential is same with everyone. Starts are born every where.

My thought at 8:14 is that he totally contradicted himself, but at the same time visiting NYC as an outsider wouldn't be the same without the graffiti. Yes I write, but even when i was a little kid in the 80's taking the train into Brooklyn with my folks, the graffiti was what I was excited about. I feel like if you took the graffiti out of NYC, the city would be so lifeless. Whether you like it or hate it, at least the graffiti gets your blood moving. Taking a train ride across Chicago, where the buff is strong, makes you feel nothing. I just get tired standing there with nothing to look forward to on the trip.
