I think Montserrat's "Orange" Casta Diva" blew Callas' out of the water, but eh... Otherwise totally agree with viewpoints expressed.

💈Great to see and hear you again. Shame it was all a bit negative, but it just makes me look forward to the next instalment where you announce your engagement to sing lead roles at the Royal Opera House (near me). And your 1,000 subscribers - 998 as I type!

Indeed! Unfortunately a bit negative, but like I said, I'm braced for bad news until 2030 😂 Wouldn't that be an amazing announcement!

I find the pronoun fetish to be annoying. I am pretty old(72) but I was taught pronouns could be used gender neutral. people obsessing about how one addresses them seems to be to be hubris. I ignore it, which is easy for me. I am an engineer and people only talk to me when they want technical information. but I get emails now where people list their preferred pronouns. I don't care, and I don't care what people call me. it isn't important. William Safire wrote a wonderful book, "In Love With Norma Loquendi" but I think he would be utterly befuddled today
