Summer Planespotting near Heraklion Airport | ATR42, A320, B735, B752 + more | Compilation

Heraklion Airport isn’t famous for planespotting, but as our hotel wasn’t far away from the airport, we decided to drive along the coast and stop somewhere for some spotting. We caught some very nice planes like the Sky Express BAe Jetstream 41, the Blue Air 737-500 and the Astra Airlines ATR 42. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to catch the Cobalt Air A320 on video, at least we got a photo of this Airbus in the beautiful livery of the new airline from Cyprus.
The sun was burning, there were no shadows at the spots and the traffic wasn’t the best on this day, so we didn’t stay that long, but we hope you still enjoy this video! :) Please excuse the partly shaky footage…

Many thanks for watching our video! :) I'm not 100% sure, but these coordinates must be very close to the place we have been spotting at: 35.334586, 25.217017 It's not that close to the airport, but I read some articles on the internet saying g that you might get in trouble when spotting next to the airport fence... im not greek personally... but ive been going to crete for 8 years in a row now and that place is when you drive to iraklio from hersonisos on the old road not the new one basically you pass the turn of crete aquarium you just drive straight i think and you should end up on a highway to iraklio and i dont remember it was either the 1st or 2nd turn..... im 90% sure that thats how you get there havent been to that spot in a year so i dont remember that much cause last year we didnt get a chance to rent a quad and go there anyway have a nice trip

Wow großartig wie immer ! Wo hast du denn gestanden? Bin nächstes Jahr auch ein Wochende in HER zum spotten :) Gab es Probleme mit den Behörden? Man liest ja immer wieder es wäre verboten dort.

Vielen lieben Dank Chris! In Griechenland wäre ich grundsätzlich immer vorsichtig mit dem Spotten, an manchen Airports wird das völlig problemlos geduldet, an anderen sieht man das gar nicht gerne... Wie haben uns deshalb vorsichtshalber ein ganzes Stück vom Airport entfernt platziert auf einem Felsvorsprung an der Old National Road. Da gibt es eigentlich viele nette Orte für den Überflug! :)
