July marks the 2 year anniversary of Mr. J. and I becoming dog parents. We are celebrating by going down memory lane, showing you puppy videos and pictures from when Mochi came into our lives (and turned it up side down!)
Also this week: A daytrip to the picturesque town of Drøbak, a bus ride away from Oslo.

Did Mochi know?
On a warm July day two years ago, Mr. J and I were giddy with excitement as we drove to a small town two hours south of Oslo to pick up a puppy we had decided to name Mochi. We were about to become first time dog parents!
When we arrived at the breeder’s house, little Mochi (which we immediately recognized because of her black «eye patch») was playing in the garden with her other tiny siblings. Mr. J and I sat down on the grass, and then something wonderful (and a bit strange) happened.
Mochi approached us confidently on her quick little puppy legs and jumped onto our laps like she wanted to say hi and check us out. First Mr. J’s and then my lap!
None of her siblings did that.
When I think back to that bright and sunny July day, this memory makes me smile.
Maybe Mochi knew. From that very day, our lives would be inextricably linked. In the best way possible.

I appreciate you taking us on your day trips. It’s the only way I’ll ever see beautiful Norway and the stunning architecture. To answer your question, animals make anyone’s life so much more fulfilling. Truth be told I’d rather be in the company of animals more so than most people. Animals define unconditional love. Hello my three favourite Norwegians. ❤ I’m late to the party this week. 😊 I lost my dog in October. Dugal was my buddy and my partner. We travelled all over Europe in our van and lived our best lives. He was sick from birth. Diabetes, then blindness, then, eventually, altzhiemers. He was a wounded soldier, but you would never know. He made it to nearly fifteen years old, that’s how much of a warrior he was. When I first met you, a couple of months ago, I struggled a little because the mannerisms of Mochi reminded me so much of my wee Dugal, but in time, she brought me to joy instead of sadness. Today, watching Mochi as a baby, and seeing her wonderful journey through life, something changed inside me. It’s time I started thinking about getting another dog. Not sure if the kittens will agree but I shall break the news to them gradually. 😊 Thank you. ❤

Thank you for another uplifting video. We moved to Spain to avoid brexit rules and thought we'd travel all over then we came across Hector tied to a garage door on a short chain 23 hours a day. He only ever looked down at the ground and never wagged his tail. So without permission I started to take him for long walks and he started to blossom, then he moved in with us and after 15 months his owner finally surrendered him to us. He's our first ever pet (all 40kg of him) and he fills every day with joy and love. We even moved to a house with big garden so he can run about freely. He chose us as his owners and we are so thankful to him for trusting us to look after him and love him. Thank you for sharing your lives on video with us. It has really helped me to appreciate the simple but wonderful things in our lives. If you're ever in Andalucia, our home is yours!

Our cat has been with us for two years now. We found her abandoned on the edge of a path that leads to the forest, she was about three weeks old. As soon as he saw us he pounced on me and grabbed my legs without stopping meowing. We adopted her without hesitation and she is our cat daughter. In reality it was she who chose us and her instinct was not wrong, she is happy living with us and we living with her ❤️😸

Thanks for that. A cat entered our lives a few weeks ago. It belongs to a neighbour and, although they have now moved about a kilometre away, he still comes for a visit. He says hello, sleeps either in our garden or on us, gives us nose bumps, has a cuddle and entertains us. And then he disappears into the night for fresh adventures. We have had a stressful few weeks and he has been a comfort and a distraction. As you say, an animal slows you down and helps you live in the moment. We had talked about getting a dog at some point but were worried about being tied. However we are now thinking of a cat at some point when we have finished our travels

Hi Mochi and Dads. What a sweet video you've blessed us with today. First we got to go to Drobak, a beautiful, quaint town which I have fallen in love with, then you shared wth us baby Mochi. Oh how I miss those rambunctious puppy days and the puppy breath. My current boy when he was a pup I'd go to take a shower, when I'd come out ALL the lower cupboards in the kitchen were wide open and the contents were all over the floor and he was so proud of himself. Of all my dogs he was the most "busy". I learned later it's a sign of his intellect. He did indeed turn out to be incredibly intelligent as he was eventually trained to be my husbands service animal after my husband had a stroke. The training was intense but the trainer said for our boy it was so easy because he was so smart. We were very proud parents. He's old and very ill now, it's heartbreaking. But I love him like he's my son, really that's how much. I think that's how much Mochi is loved by his dads🐶💞. A dogs love is unconditionally like no other. Thanks for sharing.

Our boy was right there beside him and when he passed our boy mourned deeply, began to mutilate his right paw. It was a very hard time trying to help him cope along with me trying to cope. About a year after my husband passed we were on a walk. About a block ahead of us a man enters our path, he had a limp (my husband had a limp after being ran over over by an elderly man), when my boy saw the man he began to cry, begging me to hurry and catch up with his beloved daddy. It was utterly heartbreaking. Even tho he was with his cherished daddy in his last breath, even mourned I guessed in some part of him he thought daddy would come home. God bless you for taking the time to reach out.

Oh yes indeed,!!!… all our animals have enriched our lives totally. We have to think about them first, make sure that they have everything that they need, water, food, a warm or cool place to sleep, exercise and of course plenty of love. This makes us less self-centred and more compassionate to all living creatures, and we are so much richer for that. I feel lucky to have found your lovely channel! I was so happy to see the notification for a new video, intending to save it as a treat after today's housework and cooking. (Norway is many hours ahead of Nebraska) After reading the story in the description box I watched immediately! What a beautiful love story💓💖! Oh yes, Jack Russells are very energetic! Luckily Mochi is very calm and chilled when she is inside the house. She loves to sleep! But when I show her a ball outside, she explodes with energy and joy😂

Your pictures are always so beautiful ! Thank you to share them with us. I love the idea of a book with pictures of Mochi. I have lost my four legged friend, Rupert, an English Bulldog, a month ago ; he was only 9 years old and was not sick : his heart just stop beating when I thought he was sleeping. I wish I had a book with pictures of him. But when I wanted to take pictures of him, he would look elsewhere ; I think he didn't like the paparazzi. A big hug to Mochi from me.

Aww, Mochi is so precious as a puppy 🐶 and still is 🫶🏼♥️. My Bruno, who was also a Parson Russell Terrier, was my best friend. I preferred spending time with him more than with my friends. Your experience with Daisy sounds a lot like the one I had with Mochi 😅 If we got a puppy now, it would be so much easier. Back then, I didn't know what to expect, and everything was new and a little scary. I remember wishing for time to go by QUICKLY because I heard girl dogs calm down a lot after their first heat period. 😂 (And luckily she did!)

I love the country and Norway has a beautiful countryside. I loved seeing the red barns, all the colorful buildings, and the beautiful gardens. I'm trying to create a flower garden in my backyard, what a challenge! I remember when our dog, Elvis, was a pup. He was outside doing his business, and just struggling to poop. I checked out his backside, and something blue was coming out. I recognized it as the satin trim off of a blanket. I pulled out a piece about 12 inches long!! I believe Mochi is as sweet and loving as she is in large part to how gently she has been raised by her Dads ☺️ I have been following a lovely, outspoken, 82 year old, Australian lady who discovered that she had a “buried poet” inside (about 17 months ago) and she has released her and been prolific ever since 😊 She has a KZbin channel ‘The River Berry Poet’ and has written about Sally, who is the complete opposite of Mochi, despite also being a pure bred Parson Russell - Sally is a handful 😂 but also quite delightful 🫶🏻 Aubrey, the poet, reads her poems - she posts daily - each one is short (no more that a few minutes) and, I believe, well worth listening to ☺️
