The Penderwick series is delightful. We have loved them and also have them on Audible and my daughter has relistened to them countless times. I am not a big fantasy reader but just finished The Wingfeather Saga and absolutely loved it. It can be a bit scary if sensitive, but also funny, and moving. And the ending took me by surprise.
