I was just saying the same thing about winter, in Brisbane QLD. I miss the cool during summer but it is just sooo cold... I'm over it. We are a pretty similar distance from the equator, just opposite sides :)

I'm in Hervey Bay and have been here for 12 years. This winter I may as well still be in Ipswich. I don't think it's ever been thus cold since I've been here. We've had a few days of 5 over the last month. Luckily we've got reverse cycle air cons.

I think she was smiling. She looks absolutely stunning. 🤩 My poor succulents, however, are so stressed, due to a second week with daily temps over 110 and nightly temps in the 90’s (Phoenix Arizona 9B). On a happier note: my mystery purple cactus has just bloomed for the first time since I got it, about 7 years ago. Yay! Thank you for all the great information - it has really made a difference!

Hand raised as high as possible... It's been unbelievably oppressive in Texas, and we don't get cool nights. It's hot all the time. But my no ID aloes and echeveria are living their best lives, but they only get hit with about an hour of direct sun and then filtered sun for the rest of the day.

Carmen Miranda that looks so much better with the color added to your shady lady. Sunday Funday lesson is rinse, repeat, rinse repeat, move stressed etiolating greens into a little more sun, and bring some colorful stressed cuttings into the shade, then switch. Make summer funner.

Laura your pot looks a-head of its time 🙃. Question for you! I recently bought an aeonium sunburst that has multiple crests growing on it 😃... I can't decide if I should cut the crests into separate crests or leave it as one plant with crests and stems? I worry that if I don't cut the crests they might revert to stem. I know now is not the time to do anything as it is summer but any advice would be super appreciated. You are such an inspiration and I hope one day to have a garden like yours!! Love your videos and you too!

It's 112 degrees here in Phoenix, Arizona and triple shade cloths isn't really helping a lot of my succulents and a couple of my cacti couldn't survive the heat. All my jade plants burnt last month and they were under shade cloths. Heat damage was so severe even bringing them indoors still didn't save them.

I’m in Phx also and having the same issues. I’ve lost a number of my favorites. 😩 I think it’s because this year has been dry, windy, almost no rain and morning temps in the 90’s. I hope it gets better soon!
@bonnieheath66072 жыл бұрын
I've lived out here for 42 years and every summer it feels like it gets hotter. It seems to be the worst time for succulents even though they're supposed to be drought tolerant and I've only been into them the last couple of years. Yes the weather will get cooler eventually but that's not til October usually. September usually is our rainy time.
