@@ProfJul we were encouraged throughout MFA to cheer loudly for anything which deserved praise. i admit doing it in the middle of the opener was a bit immature but that's what you get with a bunch of people aged 14-18. (and to the other person who said we watch life through a phone screen, i know for a fact most of these people never record anything - but it's a once in a lifetime experience that nobody wants to forget, so they record it.)

they are children.... at a children’s summer camp where the kids stand up and clap for everything because it’s what they love to do. it’s totally appropriate.
