Today we're doing a summer thrift try-on HAUL! (the good, the bad, and the UGLY). I went thrifting in orange county recently and filmed a super fun "come thrift with me" video with my thrifting buddy Alexa, and I got so much stuff that I decided to make it it's own size 16 plus size thrift try-on haul video! I'm so happy and grateful to be fully vaccinated and able to safely travel and THRIFT AGAIN! Since fitting rooms aren't open at the thrift stores right now, I ended up getting a little more than I intended to....but hopefully you enjoy the ride LOL! xoxoxo

The witchy dress is pretty. The lavender top with the frilly bottom and top ... try tucking it in and tucking the straps in (bandeau style) ... or move the straps closer to the center in the back if you need them tighter.

omfg, I worked at Charlotte Russe for FOREVERRRRRR. The stores all closed and they went bankrupt, BUT they were bought by some other parent-company. Their supplier is different than it used to be, and the clothes they have now are sooo... just.... bad. Some stores have reopened (again, they're NOTHING like it used to be) - there's a location outside of Seattle that I've been to and it was SO awful! So... RIP OG Charlotte Russe. I miss their dresses and cheap basics and shoes!!!

I agree when items are donated to thrift stores I don’t like when the price is expensive 😂 I do understand when second hand stores may have more expensive items if the store & client split the money from the item that is sold.

Hi Carrie 🌼 Just so you know, every item donated at saver's/value village / unique is weighted and they pay a price per pound to an organism. Even if its stained and wont end up on the racks. When I worked there someone mistakenly donated their garbage bag and we still had to pay for it. They still are a profit based company, but they dont exactly get it for free either :)

Huh. I’ve donated several times to my local Value Village and was never offered compensation (not that I’d want it - to me donating means giving it away), so I wonder if each Value Village operates independently with different rules? Interesting. Have just never heard that before.

@@fiveandfour they make a donation/lb of donated goods to a designated charity that they work with (charities vary by location), not compensation to the donors! I think you can find out what charity/ies your location works with on their website! 😊

That purple dress is still up on the H&M website! I believe it’s from last season, I actually bought it last summer (but returned because it didn’t fit right on me). So if you’re wondering if it’s an older style, I believe it’s only one season out of date hehe. Anyway, it looks so good on you!

Charlotte Russe I think is all online now... I’m a sucker for their 3-tier high waisted jeans because they hold everything in nicely. Have a few pairs that I bought in late 2017 and still wear often. I was checking recently and apparently you can purchase stuff through their website. So weird, because I was sure they had closed too. Also... those printed pants most certainly remind me of these jumpsuits at New York & Company when I worked there forever ago. What a flash of nostalgia. I would’ve been mad about paying $29.99 too! It makes me so sad to see Carrie talk about how her “pancake boobs” don’t look good in this or that. As a fellow “pancake boob” girl, I’ve had to get over certain insecurities with them, but I’ve never been insecure about them in specific clothing. Seeing Carrie point out things about her own chest makes me reconsider my own body at times. I hope she overcomes this and learns to love all of herself because she is so beautiful💗

I don't even understand what "pancake boobs" are - have we societally become so used to surgically or otherwise (edited) enhanced breasts that anything less than ultra perky and perfectly round is considered pancake? She’s showing that she’s not perfect in her body confidence, and how that’s a normal thing in this road to body positivity, but also some comments can lead to backfire on viewers own bodies when they feel they have similar traits, like you stated. I too hope Carrie finds full body positivity, or at least neutrality, as I hope for all of us as viewed and supporters💗☺️
