SUMMER TIME Mahi and Swordfishing in Islamorada! Catch and Clean!

I had Jim and Caroline out aboard the "Broad Minded" for a full day fishing trip off Islamorada. We started off catching some "schoolie" mahi and then moved on to the swordfish grounds. We hooked up first drop and Caroline caught her first every broadbill swordfish! Back at the dock we unload the fish and fillet up the swordfish.

Hey capt nick awesome video of your trip what a nice smorgasbord of mahi and swordfish to to it off!!I love to see the gladiators of the sea return ...they also as a species were almost non existent just like the bluefin tuna returning now in incredible numbers...the long liners back in the day targeted these species also commercial boats mostly from Japan or here sending them over for a profit of course...thank God there were limits set back in the day of there catch ...so you today can catch them on rod and reel and other people who enjoy fishing for these...always count your blessings...but atleast they have it into place yrs ago of limits and restrictions on these 2 awsome game fish...tight lines my friend. and tell the bean to suck it up and get out there and give you a hand!!!he was probably cutting up bacon.....keep the sharp knifes away from him....you don't use bacon in itailian cooking!!!!lol and God bless you all and family.....

I am sure they are in there migratory mode right now ...feeding on manhaden,tinker mackerel and bluefish....a friend of ours just caught a 550lbs off of Jones beach inlet in long island N.Y. where I use to live 40 yrs ago !!!infact it was this past mothers day!!!they will be following the gulf stream all the way down to the Carolinas!!!!Awesome powerful fish of the deep they rule ..tight lines my friend and good luck and God bless you and all!!!
