Thank You so much for the lovely comments 🙏. Weather hasn’t been kind to the white garden this year Autumn very much in evidence already just the pots still in flower but I’m in full planning mode for the spring display. Thanks again for watching 😊.

Great video. The stumpery already looks amazing. Well done. Your neighbor's dog never stopped wagging its tail. I think he is very happy on his holiday.

Thank you 😊. She’s a very happy dog, so many strange smells for her. I’m usually digging or planting and out from the undergrowth pheasants are flying into me, she’s got a great nose and always finds them.

Hi Sue, Really enjoyed the tour of the White Garden. I had a plant in my garden which was part of a collection and thanks to you naming your plants, I now know that it's Lysimachia. Loved the shot of the bee coming out of the Lily. Maggie seems to be enjoying her holiday with you. Her tail hasn't stopped wagging. You've done a great job with the new stumpery.

Hello and thank you. I struggle to remember plant names these days and it’s even more difficult because they are forever changing the names. She’s a very happy dog, there are so many animal scents in the quarry she runs around in circles for hours 😊

So happy to see you've started the stumpery!! I've been a bit behind on watching videos lately as I have been caring for my Mom who's been sick since April. Hope to catch up on all of your projects! I have no doubt that the stumpery will be one of your favorite spots in the quarry gardens!! You are so fortunate to have all of those wonderful stones at your disposal as well. That is the one thing that I wish I had more of around here! Keep up the great work, Sue!! (Love the white garden, too!!)

Hi Jill so sorry to hear about your Mum, it’s very tough on everyone looking after elderly parents. If you get the chance check out King Charles's stumpery, there are pictures available on the internet. It’s awesome, great for ideas although way out of my league. Yes very lucky to have nice sandstone available but if you could only hear me cussing every time I dig a hole and have to try and remove them, not repeatable on KZbin 😉. Best wishes to your Mum, hope she feels better soon.

I’ve just stumbled across this looking for Stump ideas, the accent sounds familiar! Are you up north too?

Hello yes I’m in Northumberland, the northern accent is very distinguishable 😊. Check out King Charles stumpery, it’s amazing although on a different level to what us mere mortals can do but it’s great for ideas. Thanks for watching!

@@thequarrygardener5578 Fab, us too. We’re in Bellingham :) beautiful part of the world. Although I’m from Sunderland originally and Hubby from Gateshead I heard the northern twang. Such a small world to come across a local video! Just an FYI gardening express have a deal on Hosta’s 40 for £10 just bare root but I got 80 and they are all popping up lovely 🥰 I’ll check out the stumpery, thank you 🙏

At 4:42 and another at 4:59 there is a beautiful very large leaf plant with a hint of red in it. Can you please tell me what it is and what zone it will grow in?
@thequarrygardener5578
@thequarrygardener5578 9 ай бұрын
It is a perennial called Rodgersia aesculifolia. We don’t have USDA zones in the UK but we are guided by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) which provides hardiness ratings and growing requirements but are not area (or state) specific. It is incredibly hardy, a native plant to China/Asia and will tolerate freezing temperatures down to approx -20 Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit). It is a moisture loving perennial often used in boggy conditions or by a stream/pond in sun to partial shade. It is the plant I most get asked about as it is very striking. Hope this helps, thanks for watching 😊

What’s the blue grass-like plant in the containers (around 2:40)?
@thequarrygardener5578
@thequarrygardener5578 Жыл бұрын
It is Leymus arenarius Blue Dune. Word of warning keep it in a pot, if you plant it in the border it will run and you will never get rid of it. It’s in its own pot within the larger pot mainly because it doesn’t require the amount of water begonias do. Thanks for watching
