Summer Trouser/Pants sewing patterns and fabric combinations - Laurens round up!

Find out what woven fabrics are best suited for a pair of warmer weather trousers!
I’m a huge fan of a trouser and top outfit combination, but in the warmer, summer months, it can feel a bit too much sometimes to keep wearing jeans!
Luckily there are lots of great sewing patterns for trousers/pants and lovely fabrics that make for a great sewing project.
In this video I have grouped the fabrics together by type, because with trouser patterns, you can make the same sewing pattern in several different fabrics and get a very different outcome.

I love the True Bias Lander pants. It's a great pattern and I've made three pairs (two using g&g cotton twill). I can get mine, full length, out of 1.6 metres. The only drawback for me is the rectangular waistband. It gapes at the back on me so I use a curved waistband from a different pattern.

Great video, Lauren! My absolute favourite combination for trousers is the Emerson pants in a medium weight enzyme linen - smart enough to feel put together whatever the occasion, but also supremely comfortable! 😊 I've just made a pair for a short trip abroad, and envisage wearing them every day, paired with different jersey tops depending how warm it is. Very intrigued to learn more about the Sarona linen, I'm about to check out the website. Thanks again for a super inspirational video 🙏

Hello, Its the Fibremood Norma blouse but I changed the neckline to be higher and rounded and also finished it with bias binding rather than a facing :)

Hi Anna, I think you could but I feel like it might feel a bit too thin and make the jacket too floppy. Maybe if you use lighter weight buttons it might be ok.

Hello, Thanks for watching :) As prices can change and fluctuate I find that it can mean the video becomes dated more quickly if I mention prices within the video itself. I wouldn't want to say a price only to find that someone then goes and looks at the fabric on the website and finds its a different price to what I've said. All the fabric prices are available for easy reference in the corresponding blog post thats linked in the description and they are updated and accurate so that's the best way to scan and see the different prices.
