The color tone wasn't a conscious choice ergo it's neither a "style" nor an "aesthetic" - it was just what hand drawn stuff from that era looked like and is easily replicable. The show used here in particular looks like it was made by the same studio responsible for Star Blazers, other than that it's outside of my knowledge.

Desert Rose. Incase anyone is asking what the name of this anime is. *EDIT:* For some of you asking what the plot is, it’s basically about a Militia group of women that fight Terrorist organizations. It’s got kind of the same vibe and tone as Gunsmith Cats and Bubblegum Crisis. The OG manga ran for 135 chapters and can be easy to find and read on a “legal” manga site with a quick search. Enjoy.

I recommend watching this anime (Suna no Bara) if you like the “girls and guns” genre, and his second similar work “Cleopatra D.C.” also deserves attention. Sorry the last one got age restricted. A salute to the old comment I had on the last one. Found it but of course parts got cut off "I miss when vehicles were actually drawn. Makes the action scenes less jarring. Also whoever animated the weapons was on point. I love looking over animation from different eras." One thing I would to add is I don't miss the flash effects from early anime. It's realistic sure but my word watching some episodes made me fear for those who have epilepsy. One of City Hunter's openings is really bad on that front but the animation is good which sucks because I like analyzing it.
