Thanks for the video. Just tore down my 25' pool, virtually the same set up, and have the new 14' pool in the garage waiting to come out and be set up. Really looking forward to having the newer, smaller, and hopefully much more manageable pool. The old pool lasted 10 years, but each year just about had to buy a new pump, new plumbing parts, and so on. I found that using chlorine granules and shock treatment powder wasn't so good on the liner over the course of the years though, it didn't always dissolve and etched the bottom of the liner, giving algae a good spot to grow and making it harder and harder to scrub out or vacuum out. Going to stick to chlorine tablets in a floater and liquid chlorine for shocking.

Curious to know how you fixed the hole that was in your liner from the winterizing video. Looking to get this pool and you videos have made me feel confident in purchasing it.
@PovertyPointCustoms4 жыл бұрын
The company ended up replacing my liner before they did though I had to cut out part of the liner and send it to them(the old liner as proof of destruction). My new liner this year so far is perfect.

Thanks for the update, was able to score one of these pools about an hour ago so I’ll be starting my levelling this afternoon. Thanks for putting up these videos.

Hello. I have a problem leveling mine. I was thinking about getting a 2x4 to go across it but it looks like you only used your level. Mine is about 4 inches off on the high side. Would you recommend measuring with a 2x4 or would the level suffice?
@PovertyPointCustoms4 жыл бұрын
I attached my level to a 10 foot 2x4 with cable ties ontop to level. You should be able to get it very close to level within an inch or so all around.

I’m about to purchase the same pool and I was wondering if I need to get the ph testing kit or can I just add add the shock weekly and the chlorine tablet daily ?
@akilaakila40764 жыл бұрын
And also does the pool come with the cover ?
@PovertyPointCustoms4 жыл бұрын
Ours included the cover, the cover is ok but I'm finding with it being our second year it is not as tight as last year, but still does the trick
@PovertyPointCustoms4 жыл бұрын
We filled ours with city water so it's not full of minerals and has chlorine in it so we were able to get away with using one pack of shock a week (454 grams) and it stays crystal clear. If you are filling with well water I would get a ph test kit just to check your levels to see where they are at.

I unpacked the pool for second years amd our pump is leaking from bottom. I also notice that the jet inside pool isn’t putting out much water. Any ideas to fix the pump?
@PovertyPointCustoms3 жыл бұрын
There is a large rubber gasket on the bottom, if you removed the bottom cover to winterize it the gasket may not be on perfect, I had the same issue and once I fixed up the gasket it was not dropping anymore. I also had an issue where it didn't seem like I was not getting a whole lot of pressure from the jet, when I cleaned the filter which I do daily now that fixes the issue. Do you have a new filter installed?

I just bought the same pool ...but I have a quick question what kind of extension cord do I use for the pump
@PovertyPointCustoms3 жыл бұрын
I would use at least a 12 guage extension cord(12 is the wire thickness ) and it should be plugged into a GFCI outlet (Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor outlet) on the other end of the extension cord (where it plugs into a house). Hope this helps, any question feel free to ask.

I just bought the pool ..filled it up..added the shock you had...and my pool still is green ...what else I need
@PovertyPointCustoms4 жыл бұрын
Did you use city or well water?
@l.a.picasa2 ай бұрын
I know this was 4yrs ago but for anyone else curious... green USUALLY means algae was able to grow. So either there was not enough chlorine to begin with (chlorine will kill/ not allow algae to grow) or there was, but there was no 'stabilizer' (aka cyanuric acid) which extends the life of chlorine. I believe most shock- at least certain types- has stabilizer in it, read the labels. If not, make sure you're getting that also and putting that in. Without it, your chlorine life will not last- sunlight naturally 'eats up' the chlorine pretty quickly, along with any bio debris such as leaves and rain water will of course dilute chlorine level. All of that will allow for algae to grow with low chlorine level. Once you have algae and get the chlorine levels correct, you'll need to clear that dead algae out or your pool water will look cloudy. Run your filter constantly and clean it very often during this period. Since dead algae is very fine, you may need flocculent to help bind it together that way it doesn't run through the filter and come right back out. If you use flocculent it will all fall to the bottom of the pool and you can easily vacuum it out. ⚠️ very important to know though, if you use flocculent, do not run your pump after treating if you use a cartridge filter. Let all the 'stuff' settle to the bottom and then vacuum it. Otherwise your cartridge will become clogged with all of that dead algae and will, 41 not be able to operate correctly but also will put a lot of strain on the pump motor as it's trying to overwork. I hope I explained that clearly enough and didn't totally mutilate it lol. PLEASE, anyone, if I've said something incorrect or could be explained better, along with other tips, please correct me/share. 🙂

@PovertyPointCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, just make sure there is something under the pool liner to protect it from the concrete surface due to the roughness of the concrete which could cause a hole to wear through the liner.

Wait until it's full then add the shock, and have the pump on to circulate it.

If its only unlevel by and inch or 2 it will be ok and you could relevel next year, if you leave it up all the time or its unlevel by alot I would take it down and level the ground better in the low spots. How off is yours?

I don’t have an outdoor outlet close enough for Gcfi pump plug. I do have a long outdoor orange extension cord. Can that be used? If not what other ideas are there
@PovertyPointCustoms4 жыл бұрын
You want a thicker extension cord, because a pool pump requires a good amount of electricity to run. So, if the wire in the extension cord is too thin then the cord can eventually burn up or overheat causing the pump not to run. So if you use an extension cord make sure it is the same wire as a pool pump, I believe it is 10 gauge wire, but make sure to plug into a Gfci outlet on the other end

Ours was leaking on the bottom of the pump where it unscrews, it ended up being the large O ring was kinked, also check where your hoses connect to the pump, mine were leaking there also, tightening the clamps that holds them on fixed that leak.
