It's a shame that Mateusz lost only because of the deadlift while winning 4 of 5 events and even getting new world record

Krzysiek Chmielowiec Same with Robert Oberst. He is super strong in everything but the deadlift, which kills his placements.
@AA-ps4zp4 жыл бұрын
@@SiFuJasper deadlift definitely hurts Oberst but i dont think the two can be compared. Mateusz would win wsm and Arnold if he had a good deadlift but Oberst wouldn't.

Wonder what made Licis compete for Latvia there? He normally competes under the stars and stripes Of the USA.
@beardedbjorn55203 жыл бұрын
Probably because they had 2 guys from the U.S. already. The Daddy likes to make it seem more international, he’s had a couple of guys from England compete for their parents countries before as well.

Insane to think men are lifting over half a ton these days. BigZ did it a few yrs back with hummer DL, Eddies unbelievable lift in traditional DL, followed by Thor. This WR... i mean however you do it, its half a ton mate. Crikey.

This commentator pronouncing the name of Martin Licis wrong all the time is getting on my nerves
@UnequalTemperament4 жыл бұрын
Same with "Mateusz Kieliszkowski." Usually stuff like that bugs me, but it didn't so much this time -- maybe because the commentator (and everyone else) seemed so enthusiastic for the competitors and the event. But, yeah, a few minutes spent beforehand making sure that everyone on the mic knows the correct pronunciation of the competitors' names (same as any event where you're introducing people) would be well spent. Cool video and cool comp, though -- thoroughly enjoyed.

If Janashia would be rational and pull smoothly he may have been able to get more. But he’s more concerned about appearing strong than actually being strong. I can’t help but be upset looking at those nasty oil injections all over his upper body. You’re a strongman dude, you don’t need to appear to be strong you prove it in your job.

Yeah I have no idea where they got their information, but from what I can find, the previous silver dollar WR deadlift is 1125 pounds (511.36 KG) by Ken Brown in 2008. Even today there is no record online about Heinla holding a WR in the silver dollar deadlift
