I somewhat understand what the cops are doing especially last year. But the part I don’t understand is that when I entered i immediately got pulled to the side by police and searched. And their reasoning was that I was suspicious. They even unlocked my phone and went through it.

The ACT police have been cracking down due to a lot of incidents that have happened in the last few years. The poor behaviour reflects on everyone, that’s just how it is going to be. If you want them to back off, hold each other to account and kick the trouble makers out. People come for the summernats, so when they play up… it rejects on the Summernats!

I use to enjoy it when it first started when Chic basically made it a National car show with driving events. Some of the quality of the cars is a joke. Buy an old XE Falcon and put mags on it and become a Nats entrant. Unfortunately its always attracted the no hoper, wish they had a car bogans. If you want to get argo at a car show you need help. Its big business now and the owners want to cash in big time so its no more what Chic really started. Haven't been for a few years and Im not sure if I will ever go back. My local State car shows are more family friendly without all the drama.

It all depends on the ticket sale details. Its not a public place its a place of entertainment where a fee is paid for the use of the facilities and see the event. That's how people get removed from the venue under that Act. Just like the cricket etc. You are partly correct though, the Nats has a no commercial video condition of entry so the every day person can use a phone etc to film. Except under other laws which cover indecent filming etc.

Technically it is is private land, but anyone from the public can purchase a ticket and there are no restrictions on filming. Film away and thank you for making this video it is awesome with many funny moments within.

@kermitthehermit9588 Worked every year there for about 8 years in the Pioneer Car Audio tent and doing the Pioneer Super Cruise when they sponsored it all... had to drive down from Brisbane every year as my Company Car was a demo car...I am actually a Car guy but the Bogan Nat's just ruined Car shows for me forever...I was definitely over hearing "Show us ya Tit's" after the first hour and time down there....EVERY Pioneer staff member HATED the end of the year knowing they had to go down to the Bogan nat's

More to do with Swifty being booted along with Hinchy.... they both were being driven on blown tyres. The noteable difference was the owner of Swifty remained quiet whilst being booted, asked to speak to someone and was given a fresh sticker and let back in shortly after.

It'll be interesting to see the LMCT+ influence as Troy Candy and Adrian Portelli are loose units who love cars. I suspect they don't mind people running a muck as long as no one gets hurt. I feel at least 90+% of the security guards enjoyed working there and had fun as they are mostly car people. Some even grabbed the phones of spectators and filmed the skids for them.
