Very interesting and informative! I’m currently studying an RHS (Royal Horticultural Society, I live in U.K. ) exam and not long ago was looking at propagation so this is great to check out! I would love to see more of this kind of video, going to check out the playlists and see what you have! Thanks Summer and Don 🙏

My very first job was a nursery & I learned to propagate Rex begonia’s, they had herbs I loved watering in the morning.

Great video! I just inherited my neighbor's angel wing begonia and it is so leggy it needs to be propagated. This was very helpful!

Regarding the first part about the same begonia with very different looks, it's because plants can't move, so they make up for this disadvantage with a huge DNA that allows some sort of polymorphism and this will give them the possibility to adapt to a changing environment.

Digging, using the rake, repeat. I want to build a habitat as well as a food forest. Introducing insects and microorganisms. Looking forward to permaculture adventure. Zone 7 I think. I will have to catch up with 5 fingers. I love what you did, Well done. Let's go !.

I wonder 🤔 A cut is made horizontal. What if the cut is diagonal, therefore give more "surface" by which roots can grow?

Is it bad to read them in water? I’ve done that many times and it seems like it makes nice plants.

It’s crazy how little something like water , soil or even light can affect the plant.

I’ve also successfully and easily rooted cane begonia cuttings in water, and they’re pretty to display that way as well. Nothing special necessary.

Just a warning. If you do a plant auction on Steve's Leaves they will increase the time on an auction even after you receive a notice that you have won the auction. I was told it was so more people can participate, but by extending the time limit, after it has officially ended, they are able to make more money. If you don't mind winning, and then being forced to pay more to win again, then their auctions are the ones for you. I have posted this on multiple platforms to let people know so they aren't surprised when they win and then loose.
@woo4poo5 ай бұрын
They do this to prevent sniping, and it's actually very fair. It only extends the time if someone bids within the final minutes. And if you don't want to pay as much as another bidder, then you don't get the thing. Pretty sure that's how auctions are meant to work.
