I been fishing there since the 1980's. Have a vacation home in Trinity Center too. Rapala Fat Raps, brown jigs, pumpkin seed and Junebug colored worms and Senkos. Cedar Stock area produces some nice bass.

Trinity fishes well on account of light pressure. The fish don't get pounded like our home lakes. The river has huge Smallies, and Jan/Feb/Mar great steelhead fishing.
@dthao92 Жыл бұрын
I didnt know that. Now will have to try the river sometime for bass when im up there. Would make it seem to travel up there during those times due to the rain and snow though

Damien can you show us how you line your reels and what type of line in each rod set up? Obviously braid for punch and frog but do you use flouro or.. see what I’m asking. What is your process? I purchased 5 Daiwa/ Abu reels and rods to rig up for my kayak so that I do not have to change line to throw a certain lure etc and now I want to line the reels.
@doualor4574 Жыл бұрын
Mostly dobyns and shimano reels. I can tell u that!
@TheDarkHorse949 Жыл бұрын
@@doualor4574 I’m discussing pline on the reels. I fish Daiwa reels with one exception of the winch by Abu. I use Dobyns exclusively for rods.
@dthao92 Жыл бұрын
I use majority Shimano for my reels but all my reaction stuff like cranking, I prefer Abu garcia. All my reels i run a Mono backing and from that its straight flouro for all my baitcasting rods other than my frog/punch rods. For my spinning i'll run braid to flouro. Majority of my reels are Pline tactical in 12lb-15lb test. You can pretty much cover all the tecniques with those lines.

I fish this lake a lot and normally have 20 lbs+. I would recommend using a baby bass whopper plopper in the morning which I caught a 6.52 last week on. And during mid day use a fat TRD green pumpkin or a watermelon red dropshot.

Just a recommendation though

Is that popper beat up from catching fish or is that the pattern on the bait?

It's beaten up from catching fish. It's suppose to be all black

Now I know I'm not crazy. Had a spinnerbait stuck in a bush at New Hogan and then it started moving. My PB catfish that was to big for my net.

Ive had some really big bass in the past just grab the bait out of the snag a lot of times.
@soosilly79 Жыл бұрын
I cant really follow whats happening on account of your random bail clicking, very cool i guess
@dthao92 Жыл бұрын
I dont like using my drag. I like to manually give line to fish when i feel like he needs it or if i get the feeling he's gonna make a hard run. That's why you will hear me click the bail when im going to flip a fish into the boat or when i stop reeling i will click the bail just in case the fish makes a hard run.
